See Sparta Prague held a very good Stuttgart team to a draw in Germany last night. Just shows what can be achieved with good tactics.

When Celtic dominate teams domestically...we forced those mistakes coz we are the dugs baws

When Celtic get dominated in Europe.....we were so poor, made so many mistakes, our own worst enemy

They also had a night where everything they hit just went in.
------------------------------------------------------------------

BD had 16 shots and 13 attempts on target. Just saying.

Last night was a sore one for Celtic but Dortmund are class - I dont think anyone would argue with that.

Ironically I think the nature and extent of the drubbing was as a result of Brendan (and Celtics?) key attributes that make them so successful domestically.

Brendan has Celtic believing they are world beaters and he believes he is a world class manager. The truth is that with the resources they have they are just about the right amount better than the teams they face domestically - and I include Rangers in that.

Brendan is great at bigging up the players to believe they are so good they become virtually untouchable domestically. We saw it with guys like Scott Brown in the past. He is very good at getting the most out of some players at least.

Its the arrogance that goes with that which is Rodgers undoing in Europe. Its not just some sly Jedi mind trick with Rodgers - he actually believes he is top class and he seems to believe his players are better than they are and can succeed in Europe as long as they do what he says.

Celtic could be better in European games like last night with a better set up and approach. They still dont have the players for that level but it didnt need to be as bad.

Celtic will have a terrific season domestically - there is no doubt about that. Rangers are a work in progress cobbled together with free transfers, loans and pay you next year promises.

Celtic fans can choose to embrace the wee arrogant beller and enjoy stomping on the heads of everyone domestically or get upset that when it comes down to it, on a different stage, they really arent great shakes and hate Brendan for it because hes an arrogant wee beller. The two dont really work together.

Rangers team will take absolute doings this year in Europe as well. Unfortunately it wont be because our manager is an arrogant beller - its because our playing squad is still a bit of an unconvincing work in progress.

never seen last night's game fortunately but agree with your points

We have still too many weak points to take on Europe's elite

Yes playing more pragmatically would possibly save a bit more pride but I think it would also nail on the eventuality that you lose

I'm happy for us to at least attempt to enforce our game and see if it comes off

😂😂 Agree with you re your playing squad, but your manager?! ffs he is a laughing stock who spouts pash while dancing in his pressers!

Shows you how misleading stats can be if you hadn’t watched the game.

Possession was 53-47, total passes was 499-449, accuracy was 88% against 87%, and the xg was 2.64 versus 2.2.

Didn’t feel like that watching it, but shows how more clinical they were with their passing and shooting.

i don't know what it is about rangers, but you seem to make managers go a bit crazy.

you can associate each manager with something ridiculous.

Gerrard - so many stupid comments. my favourite when asked if celtic park was a lions den, "A lion's den is when four lions jump over a cage and you fear for your life."

absolute thicko

Warburton - magic hat, traynor jumping in and out his presser, guy not even knowing he was sacked.

Pedro - cutting about a hedge

Think Gio avoided it apart from the short spell he was called tiny, no pun intended.

Beale - arrived with a massive mole on his face, enough said.

clement - moral winnes, doing the hokey cokey at the weekend, he has many.

gerrard was always a phanny but the rest... maybe its drinking from that stupid cup and making eye contact with the picture of charles in your dressing room.

Falkirk came to parkhead and caused us problems playing their brand of football but still left with a 5-2 defeat.

Hearts came and never left their own half and got beat 2 0.

Thing is hearts will always lose with that approach but the falkirk approach might work if you catch them off guard.

The issue really is the gap in europe just keeps getting wider each season and we cant do anything to stop it.

Celtic and rangers and scottish football in general is miles off the pace now.

Atalanta 3 up and also hit the woodwork twice, away from home.

Fully dont expect any points of the next 2 champions league games.

We are the st johnstone of europe.

At home though we could maybe do something qnd get the 2 wins we need.

Yeah i hoped for something last night but at no point did i expect anything.

Especially after 5 mins when i saw the pace they jave in their team.

Like a ferrari versus a volkswagen golf

You would think his ego would want a better reflection on him than this, so he can fook off to another payday down South at some point. Results like Tues night over-write any credit he might have accrued domestically up here.
