I'd watch it rather than read it. He has a good point. he is similar to Bergkamp in that the game seems to slow down around him.

Also i'm not sure bergkamp ever got close to palmers numbers, and you will say yeah but thats not what bergkamp was about, but its not all palmers about either.

And Bergkamp didnt really do it at all levels, he scored only 7 goals in 40 CL games and the furthest he got was the quarter finals.

Now not Sh!tting on bergkamp, was a great player, but dont get so defensive for someone comparing him whilst complementing both.

Bergkamp was a great player, no doubt about it. And comparing Palmer to him is high praise. But that's what the media do when a new talent emerges and frankly, Palmer does look a special talent. Drawing parallels to Bendtner and R9 just makes you look stupid tbh.

Not sure why people get annoyed about this kind of thing. You can't expect pundits to compare modern players to obscure players from the past as it wouldn't mean much to a lot of viewers. They want easily recognisable reference points. Bergkamp wasn't just a big name but a player with a distinctive style. It doesn't have to be denigrating to compare a modern player to him.
