Also Honourable mentions to salah and saka.
Great at what they do and very efficient.
Mount did similar when he broke through at Chelsea but then couldn't make the step up at United.
Although I would take Palmer at United, I feel it may be a similar story. He failed to cut it at City but looks like Maradona at Chelsea's level.
I fear he'd be back to Michael Johnson levels that we was at at City, if he made the step up and came to us.
Bit hard to tell us who’s best after 6 games
Post this again in January
Not sure it’s the last six games tbh, he’s been superb for 12 months.
It’s certainly a debate, his numbers and overall influence have been crazy.
Very early and disregarding players like VVD, Grav and Gabriel who have been stand outs. Palmer had a exceptional game last time and he has proven he is not a one season wonder. Let's see how he continues.
Let's see how he does if Chelsea ever get into the CL or he isn't a bit part player for England.
That's the kind of level we'd normally be talking about when discussing who the best players are.
The reality is that Chelsea are a Conference League level side at the moment and Palmer is their stand out player at this level.
Similar to when say Tim Cahil was Everton's standout player when they were at that level. Or Jared Bowen at West Ham when they won the Conference League.
Or like Charlie Adam at Stoke. That kind of level.
It is pretty disrespectful to be comparing players who do it in the latter rounds of the CL and at the Euros and World Cups, to someone who is currently a Conference League, mid table PL, bit part England sub level player.
Palmer had one goal in his first 6 games this season. To be considered a top player you need to be consistently doing it, week in week out.
Anyone can score a hatful in one game against garbage and go missing in 80% of the other matches.
The likes of Salah would not start a season with one goal in his first 6 matches. That's who he should be compared to.

Nobody is disregarding them. Gravenbach has done it for 6 games, caicedo has done it for longer and I wouldnt put him in the best player in the league conversations. VVD, Saliba and Gabriel are potentials but for me I always think its harder to be an attacker and they are the best players in the world for the most part. Attacking is acting, defending is reacting. Just my personal view

Im not talking this season, im talking whos the best player in the league.
Does he remind you of anyone Nik?
But if a debate online about that. I went for Mata but it’s actually very hard to compare him.
Would see how he does throughout the entire season as opposed to everyone just going crazy because he got 4 in 1 game - but I would say I rate him super high.
I think Haaland is probably most managers top pick, other than that I don't think you can seperate too much between Saka, Salah, Palmer in terms of offensive players, just comes down to personal preference. Would also include Rodri for midfielders who is clearly the best.

Just remember JA has receipts from you with your outlandish Chilwell claims
Defending is not just reacting though - well, bad defending is, but not good defending. Not to mention how proactive gabriel is at attacking set pieces.
Poor Foden not getting any love here.
His stats are unreal last few years.
Anyway for me Salah has to be a bit above Palmer with Saka close behind.
And that guy who scores all those goals for city somewhere after.
Foden stats:
England goals in career: 4 goals in 5 years
Palmer is putting himself in the conversation, becoming a great player, in the midst of one hell of a purple patch of form
Phil Foden is one appearance away from matching Peter Crouch's England total. Crouch scored 22 times in those 42 matches.
Generational talent Phil Foden has 4 goals.
Palmer's stats, although better than Foden's, are still way behind Crouch's.
Palmer has 2 goals in 9 games for England.
Perhaps he is best compared to Rickie Lambert who scored 3 goals in 11 for England.
By the time he had reached Cole Palmer's age, Michael Owen already had 21 goals for England.
Theo Walcott had 14
Rooney had 25.
At this age Palmer has 2 goals
At two years older and approaching his prime, Phil Foden has 4 goals for England.
Jack Grealish, soon to turn 30, has 3 goals in his England career.
Is this generation of attacking England players the worst to ever play the game?

I saw walcotts comments the other day about bergkamp and thought he spoke really well. That’s a good shout but yeah I don’t really know, he’s quite languid in his style but deceptively quick.

What outlandish chillwell claims? All I said was we were top of the league until James and chillwell got injured and they were the best fullback pairing in the league until then. People (mostly the trio of idiotic Liverpool fans) then ran a narrative of me saying we’d have won the league with chillwell. I asked for repeated evidence of this but to no avail. So look forward to ur receipts?
He is quite similar to Luke Chadwick in the way that he plays but a bit of an unfair comparison, as Chadwick won the PL and Palmer is playing in the Conference League
Also what relevance does any of that have to the topic at hand anyway? I know you’re not the brightest but that’s a stretch even for u
