A draw/Win keeps him in the job longer, which is what we all want.

Come on United!!!!!!

It's just slowly building up - the media will say it all depends on this game, but it is of course a combination of things, that really stems back to beating City in the FA Cup final last season.

I think a really poor performance and defeat and he will be gone. Anything else, he will probably be here for a few more weeks............until the next bad result and then we just go round in circles.

It's such a no-brainer decision to think that ETH can keep his job in the long-term, and the more they dither over the decision, the more harm it does for the rest of the season.

It has got to the stage where the squad need the freedom of knowing ETH isn't in charge and hopefully get a boost from that. Today's result won't change that, that has been the case for a lot of last season

One more game til sir Garetth is unveiled as the savior

A bad loss and he's gone.
I don't know who I want next, I'm not struck on most available.

I reckon anu loss and he’s done!

If losing today means Ineos would sack him then they should be sacking him even if we win.

I understood keeping him after the FA Cup Final but his future shouldn't hinge on the seventh league game of the season.

What you should want is Arsenal to win a trophy as you're not very good at that.

Hoping he gets sacked as we turn up to villa park, he gets out the united coach, gets handed his P45 and then has to get the public bus home from Birmingham while we go a destroy those brummie priiks 5-0 with a hat trick from Maguire.

I don’t care what the result is today but he’s about 18 months overdue a sacking. If we’re basing his tenure on the result today chemical Jim is no better than Ed

posted this on the wrong thread!

there are no consequences of not performing well enough for Man United. The same lot generally get picked every week and they are all involved with the matchday travel banter and routines. The manager has seemed to have been given a carte blanche by the various owners to make team selections, setups and tactics, (that clearly still dont work after 3 years of trying), game management and subs, and he explain them away in nonesense talk and riddles, as he sees fit, in his postmatch interviews. The mood at OT with the supporters is at a low, all expecting the worse before a ball is even kicked, sitting in silence watching calamities play out, getting out-sung and humiliated by the away support who these days see a trip to OT as a Beano who just come to laugh at Man United. Its totally untenable and we've have had enough.

Villa Park is a very happy hunting ground for United in the PL era. All he has to do is set 11 elite international professional players up to be hard to beat. Any manager can do that. Then let's see what happens today. That bottom third and even the relegation zone gets nearer every week.

Good time to play Villa and get a result out of them for United. Rashford is his main hope for keeping him in a job. Seems to have found some form again, which means he'll play well for a few months and give ETH a few wins along the way.

You are right about Rashford. If its gonna happen for United it will come from him usually.

I wouldn't be surprised if you pull off a result. Equally I wouldn't be surprised if you get a f11sting. Isn't Jimbo too busy with his toy boats to worry about this sheet right now?
