Unfortunately, it's gonna take a while for everyone to realise. I said earlier, he will have us 7th-5th. If that is OK, then fine.
I also don't think we can do the cups as we can't get away with it all the time. Sit deep, let Werner have the ball, hit it over Porros head. Udogie has become the gift that can't stop giving.
Timo is in for Sonny remember, and he should be back after the International break.
What was so disappointing was how we responded in the second half. I mean surely everyone knew that Brighton were going to try and come back into it? They already had a few good chances in the first half. Once they got their first goal it didn't wake anyone up. Not the players, nor the manager. Took us an age before we even had a shot on target again and by that point we were already in a losing position.
It's unforgivable how the players suddenly forgot they were footballers in the second half and just conceded all dominance at the click of a finger.

It's becoming a big catch with Ange. We're getting the good stuff i.e. the first half today, the nice attacking football, but when it doesn't work, like when teams defend deep, or really pressure us, then we get found out and drop points. If he could only try and strike a balance between attack and defence or some flexibility in tactics, we'd actually be a really good team.

City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa, Brighton and Newcastle and maybe Fulham are better teams and better coached than Spurs…. This.
Diamond, cannot really blame the manager for the loss yesterday. It had nothing to do with high line, system or whatever. All to do with just bad defending from what I think we all agree is Spurs supposedly best back four players. Udogie messing up, Romero standing like a traffic cone for the winner, and the defense just opening up for the 2nd were the cause of the defeat.
Ange could perhaps be blamed for not making subs earlier. Both Bentancur and Maddison are not 90 minute players, and Bissouma and Sarr should have both been introduced at 2-1. That one I will give you was on Ange.
Would it killed him to have just made a cautious change at HT? Sarr or bissouma on? If not then that should definitely have happened at 2-1 when it was clear we were nowhere in the game and losing the midfield battle.
I love positive football but it’s absolutely ridiculous to completely ignore the fact that there is a whole other side to the game. We simply won’t have the consistency to do anything in the league but we could be a dangerous cup side with good draws and turning up at the right time.
Although 0-2 didn't flatter us at half time anybody who knows their football could see that there was plenty left in this game for Brighton. Welbeck had missed a sitter to make it 1-1 and our second (which was a gift from their keeper) came at a time when Brighton were having their first spell of pressure in the game.
At half time as Sky were making out we were playing like the 1970's Brazil team I said to the missis this is a long way from done.
Ange can't legislate for individual errors but he could have made us harder to play against by sticking on a more defensive midfielder. His blinkered approach makes us susceptible to come backs of this type especially away from home.
Away record absolutely stinks
The way Ange sets us up means we will always be inconsistent. When it goes well, it's brilliant. When it doesn't, it appalling. There isn't really any middle ground or a way to grind out a hard fought win. So that already limits your chances of winning tight games.
We need consistency, we have a manager who play the say way constantly but ironically it will breed inconsistency. Teams can adjust, like Brighton did. Ange can't.
I'm more alarmed by Anges post match comments. He doesn't think subs can make a difference or we're irrelevant. Wtf.

Yeah I'm starting to think we won't ever get to that 'unbeaten in the first 10 games' form again, simply because there are too many good teams in this league. I'm sure this whole approach worked in the poorer leagues Ange is used to, where you can get away without focusing on the defensive duties and tactical flexibility. It's like when teams come up with ease in the Championship only to find life very hard in the PL. Unlike in the first 10 games teams now know what we're about and what our weaknesses are.

Agree there. After the initial shock of losing a match Spurs should have won, have moved on quickly. Yesterday was all to do with bad defending. So not pinning that on Ange, other than he could have done the subs quicker.
I personally can’t wait for bentancur to get his ban, the racist pr!ck.
Hes absolute trash, sideways/backpass merchant. He hasn’t got the engine or legs to be the deepest lying MF, nor can he tackle. That 3rd goal was absolutely pathetic by him.

Absolutely. As fecking annoyed as I was, you have to think that this is a lesson we needed to learn. It wasn't the tactics, we came out 2nd half at half speed, looking to protect what we had, and they came out in top gear.
If anything it endorses Ange's philosophy, that you down take your foot off their throat. Regardless of the score, the time left, whatever, you stay relentless as we were in the first half.
This is a learning curve. Those saying "anyone could see this coming" as some sort of justified attack on Ange's tactics and just pushing a very simple narrative that we let in 3 goals therefore it's the tactics. To reach that conclusion is to fail to see what actually happened in the second half - The dropped intensity, the sloppiness, the mistakes, the giving of hope to the opposition.
Rather than wetting the bed, we should hope that this is an important lesson learned. We are a work in progress, we need to learn and improve. Whether we do or is is when we judge our progress.

WTF are you on about.
This is about this group of players, under this manager, going through a journey of development and progress, with the aim of developing into a top side.
That happens through practice and through experience. What happened under other managers, at other times, with other players is nothing to do with what happened yesterday. As a group, you face these situations and on this occasion they fecked up. You could say it happened vs Leicester, total control and then some sloppiness and its 1-1 and a very different game. No one really saw the 2nd half coming and may be that was part of the problem. At 2-0 we didnt feel like we needed to keep the same intensity and quality, may be we felt we'd done the hard work...and they got a very nasty shock.
Learn the lesson. The 3rd goal is just as important as the 1st. We have to remain ruthless and make our domination count and not get suckered in to thinking total domination, 2 nil at HT = victory.
Our record since last November has been woeful..... We are not learning from our mistakes because Ange cant see beyond his ridiculous ideology.
Football is about being able to attack and defend... You cannot win football games against anyone half decent if you cant do both.... Its the basic principle of the game..... Sorry Ange you are not some kind of messiah who's re-inventing the wheel..... Just get the facking basics right.
As Spurs fans we can all handle losing games but this is just facking stupid.. we are throwing away points.
You cannot change the mentality of the club from the dug out. The club is about making as much money as possible..... Nothing else. All he can do is try to win games.... that starts with keeping goals out of our own net.

By which you mean the moment we lost a game you'd be full bed wetting, knee jerking, proclaiming "I told you so"
Some 'fans' simply cannot wait for us to slip up, to fill the gaps in on their narrative.

Bring back Bissouma. Joke ting that he’s been dropped

“Important lesson learnt”
Sorry mate but do you believe anything that the club tells you? How many times have players/managers come out and said we need to learn/have learnt/will do better next time.
