3 PL losses in first 7

He had a good run, won five matches on the trot in three different competitions.

League was always going to be a roller coaster, always is with Spurs. The fact that Spurs have won all three cup matches this season should be seen as a positive. Last few seasons cup games have mostly been embarrassing.

Cup games are the way forward this season.

To be fair, in those 5 games we beat Coventry, Brentford, qarabag and Ferencvaros, plus a sorry united down to 10 men. I feel none of those was a stern test
Pretty every time we meet a decent side we lose, since last November- only exception was 4-0 at villa but they were also down to 10 men

Just a punt but I think Potter will be Spurs Manager before the end of the season.

I dont think beating the bottom half and losing to anyone half decent will be enough for top 4. I dont think we are a cup team as we don't have different way of playing (eventually u come up against someone decent.

If the flack starts heading Levy's way and CL money is at threat, he'll pull the trigger like he always does.

As someone just mentioned, other than 10 man Villa last year, 10 man United this season have Spurs beaten a decent team in the past 12 months ?

Its not like we are unlucky, we just throw away points with stupid tactics/ Poor defending & bad finishing... Thats on coaches & mgmnt

There are a lot of cracks an we must not paper over them.

Yeah the Brighton defeat was on the back of positive run against opposition we should beat everyday of the week.

True .... Inferior opposition or not "you can only beat what's in front of you"

Our issues, in no particular order:

1. A manager who refuses to see and fix what's happening in front of him and appears to deluded/arrogant enough to think we can and should beat everyone 3 or 4 nil. Anyone with a pulse knows you cannot score 3 or 4 goals every game.... why doesn't Ange? Any half decent manager/coach when they see oh my team is under the kosh I think i'd better change something.

2. We are still way short on decent experienced squad depth. One or two injuries and we are feked. That's a Levy issue.

3. We seem to be fixated with stats when trying to sign players. Why can't we just sign players who we know are good.

4. We lack leaders on the pitch. This has been a problem for a long while. When I watch there appears to be no communication between players, shouting, pushing players into position when defending. It's like they take a vow of silence as soon as we kick off.

5. It clear as day we not coached very well or coached to just attack. It becomes very sun league school boy stuff.

6. Our players seem to be unable to do the basics of their profession and individual positions i.e. if your a defender defend first etc.

7. Our players lack real desire, balls and mental strength to want to fight for what they have in games. We crumble at any sign of pressure from the opposition regardless of what standard the opposition are. Again a problem we have had for sometime and pre-dates Ange,

I'm all for giving Ange a go but he has to get his head out of the sand and look around at what's actually going on. Surely he cannot be that stubborn or stupid.

I love his ideology of full out attack and he has improved or football no end from Jose/Conti but he won't last long if he does not address what's staring him in the face.

I used to be an advocate of Potter. I mean I still like him I'm just less sure than I was that he is up to the task. Not necessarily because of what happened at Chelsea, I just don't know if he is a real winner at heart. Whatever you say about Ange he obviously hates losing and comes out fighting when his failures are called into question with a hint of arrogance....that's kind of the personality you need at times. Potter never gives off those vibes.

Madders has come out and said we couldn’t deal with Brighton’s momentum.

Not sure how you work on that (and I ain’t paid millions of pounds a year to come up with a solution!)

I would suggest to Madders that it's quote easy to fix.

You stand up like men all 11 of you on the pitch and do your jobs and work you socks off and come off that pitch knowing you all left it out there on the pitch win, lost or draw. As fans when you see that you accept it knowing they tried.

Not do what they actually did and do ....crumble into school whimpering boys thus making the the game men against boys.

we are very naughties spurs again now.

talented players, capable of a good result but equally of messing up comfortable leads as we neglect defending, without the character to see out games

It's also the timing of it....villa draw, chels draw and yet again we don't have the minerals to take advantage.

At this stage should we really be worrying about that

Get your point though and the fact it's after a run of wins and great result and performance last week and also just before the intl break so longer to dwell on a poor result again, that is typical

I think we have a better squad now than at any point in the naughties. Most seasons of the naughties we'd have no more than 3 or 4 get into our team I reckon. Players like King and Keane would be guarantees. I guess Carrick and Berbatov when they were around. This team already got 5th with these players after all, which is higher than all but 2 seasons from the naughties.

This team is younger and more talented and should go on to better things but the doubt is whether that's with Ange or not.

I would of thought it's quite straight forward if your coming up against a side that is on the front foot sit in and deny them space in behind your defence, let them pass it around 30 yards from goal. If you do that for long enough they will get frustrated and if you ain't great at defending as it seems Tottenham don't seem to be it's a hell of a lot easier to defend when you've not got huge spaces between your midfield and defence.

Hate myself for starting to really doubt Ange now

I want to be patient but yesterday made me so angry in the 2nd half

Yeah the players (defenders mostly) were in the main to blame but I can’t accept our manager stood on the touch line head down , shaking his head with Brighton dominating and scoring goals

It was obvious a change was needed at 2-2 …..his arrogance to keep doing the same thing is annoying me

I want it to work for him but dint think it’s going to as he won’t change ….the footy he wants to play would only work successfully at city in the prem
