This is all xenophobic bs, people need to have a f*cking word with themselves.

Xenophobia is a dislike of foreign people. I don't have a dislike of foreign people and I don't dislike Tuchel either. I just would prefer an English manager to be English.
It's no more xenophobic than wanting our Australian manager at Spurs to be sacked would be.

I'm probably one of the few individuals happy to have him as England manager.
If he wins a trophy, I couldn’t care less if he was from Mars.
I’ve seen three trophies in the 40 odd years I’ve supported spurs and England.
Wouldn’t mind seeing another before I leave this mortal coil.

Nothing xenophobic at all. I’d say the same about any country
It’s just the principle of international sport is what I’m arguing for, not against foreigners at all
Only a woke fool would say this was xenophobic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've got nothing against you wanting it one way or the other, but saying it's "just the principle of international sport" is just a wild idealisation on your part with no basis whatsoever in reality.
For starters, it's been acknowledged that it's within the rules of FIFA, and whole host of nations have had foreign coaches. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that there are probably many, many more that have than those that haven't.
And it isn't like there's some kind of international 'tradition' either, as the rules used to be even more lax back in the old days, when it was fairly commonplace for players to switch allegiance to countries to which they had barely any connection until they went there as professionals. Kubala, for example, to play international football for all of Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Spain.
In rugby (I don't know if it's still the case, but it certainly used to be) players could choose to represent either their country of nationality or their country of residence at any given time.
And what about the Olympic Games, which many people would consider the most archetypal example of international sport?
There are myriad examples of athletes competing for adoptive countries, and it isn't restricted to people who might've been born in one country but arrived in another as children.
Middle distance athletics events are awash with East Africans competing under other (European / American / Middle Eastern) flags.
A host of finalists and semifinalists in combat sports such as boxing or wrestling were Cuban-born, some of them representing Azerbaijan and the likes.
Loads of Russians obtained passports and competed for other former-Soviet republics.
A very significant number of table tennis competitors are Chinese-born and trained.
And those are just some of the most flagrant examples referring exclusively to the competitors themselves.
And when it comes to coaching, there are no restrictions whatsoever.
It's absolutely commonplace in virtually all sports, especially those where a certain country is known for its excellence. This doesn't occur only in the case of individual sportspeople, but in all sorts of team sports too.
I’m well aware it happens. I’m just of the opinion it’s not right that a team can win the World Cup with a foreign man in charge of the tactics, players, training etc. To me it’s not the spirit of international competition, but it’s just my view, appreciate im probably in the minority and I fully respect the alternative view

If an alien came to Earth and you were trying to explain to him international football and you talked about how it's one country versus another, he'd surely wonder why there is a team full of players belonging to England but a manager who is not. There's not really any way to explain it that makes sense.
