Don't think he has to be so rigid honestly. Its ok to change it up depending on opposition.

3 goals at our end and a fight 2 rows in front, not bad entertainment and we probably deserved the draw for the second half, half time subs definitely helped well done O’Neil, pretty ineffective first half

----------------------------------------------------------------------remember seeing some action in the away end when Jamie O’Hara upset the Wolves fans who surged forward to try to get on the pitch to sort him out. Seems strange for those things to happen at the Amex where the home fans are probably the most middle of the road in the league

Palace and Southampton at home are not must wins - except that they are.

Fewer than 4 points from those two games and the knives will be back out.

Next 4 home games are Palace, Southampton, Bournemouth and Ipswich. Minimum of 6 points from those. But really we need more

Where are the Bournemouth fans gonna be sat. I'm sure the Steve bull lower is available to members to buy right now

Would like to think four points from the next two is the base level. And those next four home games, yeah six points minimum you would think.
Can't say I am that concerned about relegation. Still think we are plenty good enough to be mid table by the end.
Good to see some good news when I turned on my phone when we landed in Teners. Not seen the goals yet but disappointing that we've handed them one on a plate again it seems.
Got to be pleased with that, thoroughly deserved by second half performance.
If that fighting spirit is maintained, then I don't see any problem.
Glad to see Doyle getting a good game.
Four against one, then a fantastic pass to Cunhu.
Hopefully gets a little easier now.
Football is a game of fine margins. But let’s not kid ourselves, if the pass from Wieffer had gone a yard either side of Doyle we’d be discussing a 3-1 defeat and the worst start to a season in living memory.
November is a massive month for all involved at Wolves.
That's the reality of yesterday's game WO. A much better performance in the second half, but I'm wondering if GON knows what his preferred system is. He needs to convince me and I suspect a few others, that he knows what he's doing and is capable of getting us out of this mess, especially as we are becoming adrift at the bottom.
If we compare the results so far this season, to the results against the same opposition last season, there is a sea of difference. Last season we had 12 points and a zero goal difference (14-14). This season 2 points and a goal difference of -13 (12-25)
Some on here have stated that we need to re-assess our thoughts on the manager after the first 10 games. Well, let's hear from those after our next game.
Personally think our start to the season has been massively overblown as a disaster when in reality we have had two bad results, the rest has been pretty standard.
Can see the argument for GON to be gone, so if that was the decision then so be it but I think we will be fine if we keep and relegation isn't a concern for me.

He has made it clear in interviews he mostly wants to go with a back 4, he regretted playing a 5 first half against Brighton, he appears to realise that for some games it is prudent to start with a 5 but with the fixtures coming up we may not see a 5 starting foe some time
Yeah, fairly clear GON isn't going to use a back 3 often with those comments. And nor should he, we were handing Brighton the game with a back 3 yesterday. As i said before, it is fine to be fluid rather than rigid set up wise.
The problem for me has never been the use of 3 centre backs. It's actually a formation I like. It's the way we implement it that's a problem
We play 2 holding midfielders as well so back in the day wed have the defence and then neves and moutinho holding their hand. Now we have gomes and lemina or Andre holding their hand and the gap from midfield to attack is too big so the strikers get isolated
Wins for Palace and West Ham today doesn’t make it any easier for us to climb up the table. We’re in need of a real run of results just to get into a survival position

We can do it fingers crossed
Agree with your point Tino. If we play a back three or four then play Gomes, Andre and Lemina ahead of them it’s inevitably a set up where we are surrendering territory and playing deep. Having said that I can understand GON doing that because Gomes, Lemina and Andre are three of our best players.
To me if we are to play with 4 at the back it has to be with a commitment to play attacking football. Either with three attack minded players in a 433. Or with 4 attackers in a 4231. Clearly a risk given how many goals we’ve conceded this season. But the likes of Brentford and Fulham make that work and I don’t believe they have significantly better players than us.

4-2-3-1 for me.
Lemina should probably be the one sitting out more than Gomes or Andre but rotating all three would be fine.
Doyle in the center of the attacking three maybe, but where does Cunha end up, don't think he should be forced wider?
I dunno, some square pegs going on.
