I think you have to put into context the quality of the opposition. Form at home is fine, but the away form is shocking. That said I was one that thought Ange was out of his deth, but he has won me around, so I won`t be calling for his head again anytime soon. That said football is a results game, and if results don`t improve by the end of the season, then I reckon he will be gone.
His best hope now is to take the cups seriously. No more mass rotation in the cups. Go strong from hereonin and see where it takes the club.

I hear what you say regarding the "quality of the opposition". But you also say football is a "results game".
I just don't see how it's reasonable for some fans to throw their dummies out after 7 wins from the last 9 games. Every team (and that includes City) are capable of being beaten by any other team in the league. So it's deluded to think that we're gonna win every so called "easy" game.

Problem is City would not lose at Brighton after being two goals up, and I doubt they would put in a performance like Spurs did at Palace. They would have also won at both Leicester and Newcastle if they dominated both games like Spurs did.
I suspect City would have come away with 10 points from Leicester, Newcastle, Brighton and Palace. Compared to Spurs coming away with just one point.
Therein lies the difference.

The non-league games are all pretty much Championship standard if we're honest. That's like Ange's bread and butter. The last 20 league games we have lost half. Spurs managers have been sacked with those sort of stats before. Nuno was sacked with 5 losses in 10. Mourinho had 9 losses in 20 when he was sacked. Poch had a period of 10 losses in 20 when he was near the end.
I'm not saying he should be sacked but giving a comparison. He will clearly be lucky if he gets to survive a lot longer than previous managers.

Don't think Spurs under Ange are good enough to win anything or make top 4 and as result he'll be sacked this summer.
While the football is entertaining, his tactics and approach are flawed. Our record since the first 10 games of last season and 3 away wins in 2024 tell you everything you need to know. He's not improving individuals, and our tactics allow good teams to make adjustments against us.. sadly, we don't do the same. We'll beat poor sides at home, struggle against everyone away and doubt we'll beat anyone likely to finish in the top 4 or 5
I expect Graham Potter or Thomas Frank to replace Ange this summer after a 7th place finish
The whole Ange experiment feels like a 3-month bender that you have while on gardening leave.... Sadly, it always comes to and, you have to grow up and go back to work
Not much else to say
posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Look at the teams we've beat most of them are managed by part time goat herders and the players part time taxi drivers , as soon as we've come up against anyone decent we lose , it's beyond a joke and we should sack him now before the season is a complete write off yet again.
posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Completely agree with the OP. It feels kneejerk to me and there's a real lack of viable alternatives.
Of the defeats we've suffered this season, you can only really say that yesterday was the only one we deserved. We should have been out of sight against Brighton, could have got a draw against Arsenal, should have beaten Newcastle, and were desperately unlucky against Leicester.
You could argue all of the games we lost were a product of a lapse in concentration or mistakes at the back but these are things that can be fine tuned. It's weird saying this but I don't think we're actually that far away from it all clicking.
I think sacking Ange would be madness and I've already seen some comparisons made with ETH, those eager to suggest that if he's gone so should Ange. That is crazy. In 2.5 years under ETH United don't even have a style of play, they have no cohesion and no identity. They just have talented individuals that bail them out time and time again. Ange isn't even in the same conversation. We could see his style from the very first game and whilst, yes, we've been inconsistent since those first 10 games, there's enough there to have a little faith it could work eventually.
I can't help but think of the catastrophic set of results Arteta oversaw in his second year. Way worse than Ange's, yet they stuck with him and now look where they are.
In the absence of any viable alternative, I'd give him this season at the very least.

Bissouma and Sarr in midfield
Micky and Draguson at CBs

I said I was on the brink of wanting him out yesterday. Maybe that was the emotion talking but realistically there has to be some form of progress being shown in the results we're seeing. After City in the league, we have Fulham, Bournemouth, Chelsea at home, and Southampton, before playing Liverpool. Now providing he doesn't get sacked before then, that's another chance to go on a decent run of results, as he should. If we go and thrash Fulham only to lose to Bournemouth that will seal the deal for me.
Improvement and progress should be coming from not just one or 2 wins here and there followed by a loss, but a good unbeaten run and a winning mentality being built. Villa, Forest and Brighton are managing that this season, so why can't we?

Brighton and Forest have been on 5 game unbeaten runs, Villa currently on 7. Our best is 2. We've lost 4 times and they have lost once. I don't care who they may have drawn against, they are showing they are less easy to beat than we are.
Since our first 10 games we've had a longer run of losses in the league than we have any run of wins under Ange. Just think about that.

Look at the teams we've beat most of them are managed by part time goat herders and the players part time taxi drivers , as soon as we've come up against anyone decent we lose , it's beyond a joke and we should sack him now before the season is a complete write off yet again.

We can't compare ourselves to City, surely?

Not comparing Spurs to City, but someone mentioned that City also lose from time to time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hear what you say regarding the "quality of the opposition".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is City would not lose at Brighton after being two goals up, and I doubt they would put in a performance like Spurs did at Palace. They would have also won at both Leicester and Newcastle if they dominated both games like Spurs did.
I suspect City would have come away with 10 points from Leicester, Newcastle, Brighton and Palace. Compared to Spurs coming away with just one point.
Therein lies the difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But we're not City are we? That's an unfair comparison. They're the best side the Prem has seen so no team have come close to them yet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm hoping that Levy has learned his lesson in that twisting doesn't always work out.

I also think Ange could start by making big decisions like dropping both Maddison and Romero. A kick up the backside won't hurt either.
Bissouma and Sarr in midfield
Micky and Draguson at CBs
Worth a try.

Brighton drew at home with Wolves at the weekend after being 2-0 up. Forest hve won one home game all season I think, and yes Villa have won some matches, but drew at home to Bournemouth at the weekend, and they are hardly like 20 points clear of Spurs. None of those teams are on long unbeaten winning runs. They are having much the same season as Spurs, win one, lose one, draw one.

For what it is worth Fridge, Manchester United are the best team the Prem has seen, with their thirteen titles. City have a long way to go to come even close. And lets be fair City have purchased their trophies with unlimited spending power. At least United brought through a generational bunch of players through their youth team.

That's not the point is it?! You used City as a framework to criticise why we hadn't won a series of games but my point is that, right now, City are the best team in world football so we can't compare ourselves to them. Whether they're the best team in Prem history or whether any of it is legitimate is a completely different debate.

Well they are not the best team in world football. I think Real Madrid won the CL last season. They also gave won like 14 European Cups to Man Cities one. I don't see City winning the CL this season either.
