Outrageous! What did you do to get yourself on Mamba’s filter list, RR?

Not sure why anyone would have RR filtered. I've asked OP of that particular live thread why
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's entirely possible I called this poster a сunt, or intimated to that effect, at some point in the past. I don't recognise the name, but some people love to change theirs every five minutes.

Republicans will win 287-251. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I too don't see why you are filtered.
Anyway an excellent article,of which I agree with almost everything,
One consolation of being 79 is that I don't have to worry for myself. I have anxiety for my children, and more for my grandchildren, but I won't be around to see what unfolds.

Still no reason for him to filter you, he gets called worse in his live match thread by virtually everyone, including Barry!

Approximately 240 million people were eligible to vote in the 2020 presidential election and roughly 66.1% of them submitted ballots, totaling 158,427,986 votes.

Roughly 81 million eligible voters did not cast a ballot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would think probably a similar ratio in our last election
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep and I think 61% is quite high for a presidential election?

It was just the numbers that got me. The fact that 81 million ppl didn't vote is ridonculous.

*66 million

I'm having a mare, 66% ffs

Looks like Pennsylvania will decide it and the bookies have Trump at 8/13 there. They’ve got it wrong before though so let’s see.

Whatever happens, we're all going to die one day and we all lead an ultimately meaningless existence.

Silver lining and all that.

Depends how you define death. It may not just be one day. It could be a very painful death spread out over several days. Don't assume it will just be one day.

I'm going to play "American Woman" on repeat from now until the polling stations have closed.

That's where salvation lies.

Mortal thoughts like these can make you feel so alone.

You're gonna die, you're gonna die

You're gonna die alone

RR,

👏

Just to add my two pennies worth, Harris stands for fair elections, the rule of law, and equality. She wants to protect voting rights and invest in education and health care. By contrast, Trump is more interested in grabbing power for himself than supporting and respecting democracy. He questions election results, appoints judges based on loyalty, and undermines the systems meant to keep democracy fair. His tactics of discrediting institutions, spreading misinformation, demeaning his opposition like a child and favoring the wealthy, would only serve to divide and make the US government less accountable.

Honestly, it’s hard to understand how anyone could back Trump. Most of the world is rooting for Harris to take office because we can’t afford to gamble on what another Trump government would bring!

Mad how the Boomer generation had life so easy but seem intent on pretending it was a difficult time and making life worse for those coming after them as a result.

I don't have or want kids but I can't imagine actively voting to make their futures harder. It's such unhinged behaviour.

The only problem is every time I see Harris she looks and sounds fake. Much like Kier Starmer these days.

And I'm someone who's left of centre.

Don't get me wrong no fookin way I want Trump to get back in, but I just don't think Harris is a genuine person. I'd like any leader to believe in the values they promote. She just doesn't come across like she does at all.

Worth noting that Harris seems to be generally doing better the more informed and more educated a voter is, whatever their generation. Also doing better with females than she is with males in every age group. And that younger men seems like an increasingly fruitful group for Trumpism to target.

I don't really know her cos any news cycles I see are just filled with Trump saying mental stuff. I'm sure he must be as far gone as Biden in terms of dementia? But cos he's got the angry version rather than a more confused version people seem impressed by it even tho he's a pudding

But they don't believe they're making their futures harder. They've been triggered into believing they're protecting their nation with some misguided romantacised 1950's past that never actually existed. And they believe they're doing it FOR the sake of the nation, their identity and future generations. Just look at Brexit. Mental.

Isn't it quite a skill to be able to project being natural when you're being watched by the whole world? Sometimes that's only achieved by being a consumate actor. Personally, I think Harris seems pretty comfortable in her own skin, and manages to be more warm and spontaneous than the average politician. She has also had an incredibly challenging task of building a campaign, honing her stump speeches etc in a very short time, when most candidates get months working on their message before the nation's attention switches to the election. I think Harris is a much more talented communicator than Statmer, for instance.
