Adams MOM again.

Chalk and cheese! So much better. If playing two up front makes as big a difference as this let's stick with it. Midfield combative and creative, defence solid and Brown and Yates causing problems. Only JWZFor once we really looked like getting goals away from home

Sorry - don't know how that second bite got in!

Interesting that when Fozzie came on we won a lot more headers in their half from Zetters kicking...

I thought the back 3 worked well in the first half. They moved the ball well between them and as I had hoped we were able to get some play going through the midfield for Kenzo to pull some strings. I thought he had a very good game as did Tommo though Adams once again was a lion and did some superb covering defensively.

Brown pulled up no trees but did not look out of place and having two forward targets made us look better balanced. Partnerships take time to form and I hope Warne sticks with it for a while. I was surprised Jackson got the gig as wing back but he was decent enough and it was a relief to see Fozzy back to his normal self in the second half.

It was a proper grind as the second half wore on. Without Ozoh, Osborn and Chirewa as midfield options we were always going to be struggling for energy but the discipline was great. Only JZ looked uncharacteristically uncertain.

Fans were great throughout.

Also that was possibly the slowest clock in history in the last ten minutes! I’m sure it was going backwards at one point.

Clocks go slower at football matches. All the pie eaters in the crowd cause gravity to increase thus slowing time. You actually leave the ground younger than you would have been had you not gone.

That last bit is definitely not true. Matches like that take years off your life.

I went Yates for 2 reasons. I think his chances have been raised by Daj being around and also to pi55 off VC
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was out last night and when I looked at my phone and saw Yates' name I thought it must have been a fluke!

Don't forget I was predicting him to score in several games, but I gave up. I don't hate him, he tries hard, unlike a former number 10 we had, but he's poor.

We've got Mark Robins sacked then! Bit harsh...

Did anyone notice how having two up top restricted Coventry's options to break into our half, certainly in the first-half at least.

Apparently, Warne is now the longest serving manager in the Championship.

Both the sacking and that fact show the madness of football chairmen.

I don't know if that was necessarily the reason Scouse. In general we allowed their centre half to walk unchallenged with the ball to close to the halfway line. The tactic was clearly to compress the available space and restrict options. It worked pretty well in the first half and we nicked the ball off them a few times. As the second half wore on we allowed them to come further and further into our half. We were tiring so they were fining pockets of space but our shape stayed good. I thought Cov stayed patient and on another day our second would not have gone in and they might even have come back to Nick the win. Very harsh on Robins.

Fozzy’s challenge inside the 6-yard box that denied Cov an equaliser escaped my attention at the time. It was down the far end so all we saw was a chaos of legs and then the ball being cleared. Seeing the footage it was an astonishing intervention. Quite sensational.
