Yeah good comments….in ancient times we had ‘big Jack’ we also had for a time probably the best header from a corner or free kick, Alan Peacock.
Jimmy Greenhoff started off as a wing half but was then converted to main striker…he could really jump and head a ball. Not forgetting John Charles, of course.
Mick Jones was very good as well…all these players a real threat with the ball in the air.

I think these days players do the absolute minimum required and are off on the golf course doing social media podcasts or sh4gging reality dolly birds....lucky bleeders!!! but the days you speak of I genuinely believe footballers were more dedicated and loved the game far more than players do today who see it as a business and have an entourage of accountants, managers, brand specialists etc.

Your Eddie Grays, George Best, Kevin Keegan and even more recently David Beckham would spend hours during and after training honing their craft but our lot today haven't as you say got the skills to put it on a sixpence or smash it in Lorimer style from outside the box or at least very rarely are able to so yes I agree practise makes perfect and more time spent taking set pieces and shooting on sight from 20 yards is definitely required at Leeds because we're utter gash in that department compared to other sides.

Of course George Best never went near a dolly bird, god forbid.

I can see a repeat of last season - we'll finish outside the autos and lose playoff !

Watford leading. Almost a third of the season gone and instead of us pullling away as predicted by many, the top 6 are closing in around us. But in Farke we trust. Apparently.
