Agree bents, dom and Sarr made us so much more better when they came on.

But the rest were really poor and you have to remember these so called bench players are the same ones who will play when we have injuries suspensions etc so it is a big problem for us
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s a big problem for all sides - see Arsenal without odegaard and City without their first team players.

That’s why Ange rotated tonight - save some of those first team players for more meaningful matches, keep them fresh so we don’t have to play the likes of Bergvall and Lankshear in competitive matches when they are not ready yet
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes get that totally but player like s Davies, son, madders, porro, etc put in lack of respect display collectively and they should setting the example for the younger players. Not bothered about the young players as they should improve.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddison is just in poor form, Ange has dropped him recently - it happens.

Davies and Dragusin are not a great combo and with Forster behind them it’s a nightmare - I don’t want to see that combo ever again.

Son is recovering - Sunday showed that

Porro - I didn’t think he did a lot wrong to be honest and he has generally been one of our best players this season.

It’s not a great night but it’s hardly a disaster either. It’s all about Sunday, that’s when we need them to turn it on.

We do have an away game problem and Ange needs to sort that - but I can’t get too worked up about tonight - we’re still in the seeded spots despite losing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddison in poor form?

Well I seem to remember whenhe came on the pitch in our last match, Villa was it, he immediately score a terrific goal from a free kick.......bending it round the wall and into the top corner. GK Martinez, best GK in the world, is he,....no chance!

KINDA BELIES YOUR OPINION OF HIS FORM. Actually he may be injured.

Yep, this was a low stake game for us where the most important thing was to not pick up injuries. We need 1 point from our final 4 games to guarantee qualification now

My only complaint was that we should have gone weaker and left more at home.

Sunday is by far the bigger game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely you will need more than one point? I'm sure you'll finish top 8, but I doubt it 10 points will be enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1 point for top 24, likely need 16 points for 8th spot - that was based on the Monte Carlo simulation they did at the start of the season.

10 points mathematically guarantees progress to the KOs
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spot on. Dies it really matter if Spurs finished 24th they still qualify. Just means one more two legged tie. But they will play the 1st XI in the knockouts so should not matter at all.

The bedwetters are out in full force again. No such thing as momentum in a European competition. Spurs lost three matches and drew one the year they reached the CL final. All you have to do is win when it actually matters.

I’m actually pretty facked off with that performance tbh. Ok it wasn’t our strongest team and it is a tough place to go, but we still had the likes of Son, Maddison, BJ and Bissouma starting. The passing was some of the worst I’ve seen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bang on! Ignore Sandy. He’s clearly cosplaying as some sort of rational fan, which he never has been. The irony is that this is the one time when it’s justified anger. Awful performance from quite a few players considered first teamers. There’s no excuse.

I think Dragusin is getting away with it because no one seems to give a shiiit about the result but he’s 100% a problem in that system.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Eight of the current first team did not start tonight. Only Porro, Johnson and probably Son, through lack of options will be starting against Ipswich. Stop getting your knickers in a twist over what was basically a run out for the reserves. When Ange introduced some of the 1st team 2nd half Spurs actually won 1-0 with only 10 players for a fair bit of it.

3-2 decent result away in turkey against their strongest outfit with rotated team and 10 men by the end
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Could have been a lot worse. But pretty sure Spurs full strength would not have lost. But it is a long drawn out group stage, so can afford to lose two or three and still comfortably qualify.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure??
Match report says we could have shipped a lot more goals.
We'll see what this loss (really a drubbing) does to overall confidence on Sunday!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s not a drubbing at all. It finished 3-2.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
reports say they should have had 5 or 6 goals. Thats a drubbing
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Reports also said Spurs should have beaten both Leicester and Newcastle by five or six goals.

We got away with it today. Could quite have easily been on the end of a 6 or 7 goal lashing and that would have drastically changed the reaction from fans. I've said that performances have generally been good this season but that is another to add to the list of ones we've been very poor in. Obviously you hope players learn from it and Ange learns more about the weaknesses of his squad.

Get a good win at the weekend and order has been restored...for now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two of the three worse performances came with the B team, Coventry and tonight. The only poor performance with the 1st XI was Palace. I think I can live with that.

The scoreline did not do us justice. Lucky Ange again it should of been 6.

Osimhen is world class and we should of been in for him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Any player that apparently has a good game against Spurs is world class. Osimhen missed a lot more than he scored against what started as pretty well a B team. He is a decent player, but the term world class is used far to often for players like him.

We've had spells in other games where we've been rubbish - second half vs Brighton, against Leicester too. If we can keep them to being infrequent then I won't mind, especially in a game like yesterday where there's not a huge amount riding on it.

Now I would like to see us go on a good league run. Admittedly, a loss to City would be understandable but we should be able to give a good account of ourselves in this game, and as for the the games around this, we should be picking up decent points and going unbeaten.

Should have been out of sight in the 1st half against both Brighton and Leicester, so performance wise not to bad, save for just a 20 minute spell against Brighton and they were mugged by Leicester.

Should have been out of sight but we capitulated in the second half and lost the game from it, that's why it's worth mentioning as an example of us being rubbish this season.

That Galatasaray team is full of quality, people acting like we just got tucked in by Cork City

posted 23 minutes ago

Unlike that other North London team, you actually seemed to play better with 10. Was an entertaining game to watch too.

How can you say they have been rubbish.

In touch, and could be top four by the weekend.
Through to the last eight of the Carabou, with every chance of reaching a semi final.
In the top eight of the Europa Group, and ideally placed to reach the last 16.

What's not to like about that in early November?
