Well the ref certainly had no problem using his card on Wednesday.

If Rooney doesn't get a good reception then it's a shame on those who deride him. Can't see it happening though and he will be warmly welcomed.

My own thoughts on Rooney are that he galvanised us with a "backs against the wall" spirit in our relegation season and gave us hope that indeed we would F the EFL. Alas, it was not the case but I'll always be grateful for the hope he gave us. Got to say though that I couldn't understand why he said he was quitting to spend more time with his family...and then go straight to America leaving his family behind him....anyway I hope he leaves Pride Park with no points tomorrow....but absolutely no hard feelings. Rooney deserves a great reception... he worked hard and helped keep us going in the dark times.
Whitter... not so much. His comments after leaving were ill judged. I'm sure he'll score though.
