As I said earlier, sacking a manager every season or two is not the right way to go about achieving success. He lost Kane before the start of last season and we have since overpaid on several players like BJ and Solanke. He has also been left short of a full squad and manage to get rid of alot of deadwood.
If you look at the bigger picture we are still short in areas to complete on all fronts and results show this but his style of play is the right way for this club. Stick with him and expect more bumps on the road 👍🏻.

Never trust Levy but to his credit he has overpaid for players and been backing Ange. But even then we are still short in certain areas.
I'm hoping the likes of Sarr, Micky, BJ and Udogie, along with Gray and Moore will still come into their own over the course of this season and next. Kulu is still only 24 and sems to have found his position.
Once we get rid of Werner, replace him and buy a better RW to complete with BJ we will be better. Richy needs replacing too at some point.

Still not quite sure why you didn't take him last season? So often with these "never go back" stories it's down to never being able to reach the highs of the 1st time, but this is a bit different as Spurs didn't actually win anything with him 1st time. So ultimately nothing to tarnish if it didn't work.
Think in hindsight Slot was the correct 1st choice, but Pochettino should've been 2nd. He showed last season, to my mind as a Chelsea fan, he can still compete with top PL managers in what was a very taxing season for him personally.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally, given what’s played out since, I’m convinced that the reason Levy didn’t go back in for Poch was a financially driven decision. I’m not saying it would have been the right call, that’s a debate for another day, but passing on him when his name was being sung by the Spurs faithful did seem odd as it would have been a get out of jail free card for Levy. If it didn’t work, he could have blamed the fans. No, I think the truth is that after Poch’s lucrative stint in Paris, his wages were too much for Levy and I guess he tired of heavy payouts like the Conte and Jose ones. Ange’s salary would have been peanuts compared to Poch’s at that time and we’ve since seen the financial cuts take place throughout the squad. Could have had Raya, but Vic’s wages were cheaper. Could have had Eze or Neto, but Oderbert’s wages were cheaper. The decision to dramatically lower the age of the squad isn’t one with an eye on future success, it’s driven by a desire to cut costs at board level. We’ve heard it from many a source, like Paul O’Keefe, who said this is a clear strategy from the club in order to make investment more palatable. He seems to think it will only get worse. We can afford the fees for the high end players, but we won’t pay the wages. You just watch. That’s what will play out in the next few windows. You can forget established players. It ain’t happening. This policy regarding squad wage cuts now gives us a window into why Poch was snubbed last year. As always, our chairman cares of nothing but the balances sheet. Until he goes, we will achieve nothing. He’s basically Mike Ashley at a bigger club.
I've seen POK's tweets about Levy cost cutting to make us more attractive to investors as well.
It is what it is but sacking Ange isn't the answer.....just yet.

One season in the CL doesn't make much difference to a value of the club as it is not guaranteed income year on year. ENIC want around £4B anyway. They have invested a fraction of that. No more than £300m over the course of their ownership. They have loaned the club over the years for the stadium and new training ground.

I actually think he comes across like a right feckin cvnt to be honest. One of those cocksure types that patronises every reporter he talks to.
--------------
I like it when he does it. He doesn't bend over to media narratives. The last thing I want is a media puppet or some clown who mumbles like Poch used to do.
---------------------------------------------------
That's great if the manager in question scares the media into spinning club positive narratives. Ferguson was the goat at this, Klopp wasn't bad either.
When the manager doesn't have the respect of the media, this only ends one way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both were given ample time by their clubs to get it right. I don't think 17 months qualifies for enough time and I am not saying he will be the next Fergie or Klopp either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you trust Levy to get it right with the squad like all the other signings?

Never trust Levy but to his credit he has overpaid for players and been backing Ange. But even then we are still short in certain areas.
I'm hoping the likes of Sarr, Micky, BJ and Udogie, along with Gray and Moore will still come into their own over the course of this season and next. Kulu is still only 24 and sems to have found his position.
Once we get rid of Werner, replace him and buy a better RW to complete with BJ we will be better. Richy needs replacing too at some point.

And to come for Poch and his mumbling is just so feckin stupid. By this point under him we were in the title race. Ange isn’t fit enough to lace his boots frankly.
Honestly the revisionism of his time with us is insulting. He’s the best manager we’ve had in the Prem era. He deserves a lot more respect. The way you lot measure success suggests Juande Ramos was a better manager for us than Poch was just because he picked up one tin pot. Feck me! Stupidity defined.
---------------------------------------------------
Still not quite sure why you didn't take him last season? So often with these "never go back" stories it's down to never being able to reach the highs of the 1st time, but this is a bit different as Spurs didn't actually win anything with him 1st time. So ultimately nothing to tarnish if it didn't work.
Think in hindsight Slot was the correct 1st choice, but Pochettino should've been 2nd. He showed last season, to my mind as a Chelsea fan, he can still compete with top PL managers in what was a very taxing season for him personally.

I get you mate the squad isn’t good enough to compete on all fronts, the squad should be better BUT we are a better squad than palace, Ipswich, Leicester.
Ange does not get results against big sides now we are not getting results against the smaller sides. That is not sustainable. We have Chelsea, Liverpool and city to come, we have had one of the kindest fixture lists.

But the logic in not replacing the manager is the same for the club’s squad building. Spurs have spent a fortune and still have an average squad.

That would be a daft strategy of true. Spurs would be a lot more attractive to investors if they were a CL club.

One season in the CL doesn't make much difference to a value of the club as it is not guaranteed income year on year. ENIC want around £4B anyway. They have invested a fraction of that. No more than £300m over the course of their ownership. They have loaned the club over the years for the stadium and new training ground.
