..............he'll start off with 3-4-3 against Ipswich and then at half-time rip it up and think, jeezo, better start again

We are currently the joint best team in the league with Liverpool. He would have to be a monumentally bad manager to mess up what we've achieved under Ruud.

Taking into consideration the international break, it is going to be pretty hard for him to get the team ready to play his formation/style for the Ipswich game.

What a feather in his cap it would be for for McKenna to get one over on us/our new manager.

um, yeah, I was just kidding. Most likely he will ask Ruud what they have been doing recently, probably start off like that and slowly tweak it over the coming weeks, assuming he thinks it makes sense to tweak it etc.

Memories of LVG spending all pre-season working on a 3-5-2 formation, binning temporarily it after 45 mins against Swansea in the 1st game, resurrecting it for a league cup game at MK Dons, then binning it altogether after they battered us 4-0.

I know very little about Amorim. I keep reading about his formation/system at Sporting but does anyone actually know if he's the kind of manager who is flexible with systems or very strict and clear in a specific way to set up and play?

He defintely doesn't have the players to play the way he does at Sporting so I don't see him setting up that way to begin with but do people who know him well think he will ultimately want to adopt a 343 system or will create something that best suits whatever he and the club hope to create in the next couple years?

Made slightly easier though given half the squad aren't good enough for call ups these days. 😂

According to the headlines he arrived at Carrington and was immediately driven in the back entrance.

Doesn’t sound very friendly to me .

Well apparently Liverpool cooled their interest in the summer because he wouldn't consider anything other than 343.

Weird thing to get upset about. Happens all the time when big pop stats and heads of state visit the Country. Police don't allocate resources lightly so they will have their reasons.

Ruben Amorim's backroom team at Man Utd has been revealed.

The Portuguese head coach has been joined by five coaches who he worked with at Sporting.

Man Utd's new coaches...
Carlos Fernandes - assistant head coach

Amorim's assistant, 29, has worked with him at Casa Pia, Braga and Sporting.

Jorge Vital - goalkeeper coach

Vital was Amorim's goalkeeper at Braga and began coaching with him in 2020 at Sporting.

Adelio Candido - first-team coach

A fixture of Amorim's backroom staff, the 28-year-old has worked with him at Casa Pia, Braga and Sporting.

Emanuel Ferro - first-team coach

Ferro was a coach while Amorim played for Benfica and they combined when Amorim took charge at Sporting, where Ferro was already working.

Paulo Barreira - physical performance coach

Familiar with the Premier League, having previously worked at Arsenal and Liverpool.
