Think it’s one of those where both sentiments can be true at the same time. He should lose his job for it but people are also reading too much into it.

Just checked and PL refs can earn 100k+. Anyone in any profession earning that kind of money will have all sorts in their contracts regarding conduct, and one of the biggest things these days is companies protecting their image and if you do anything that is perceived to damage the brand, you’re a goner.

I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t think he’s corrupt, but he doesn’t deserve to keep his job either.

Of course not. He’s allowed himself to be filmed saying these things, and no matter how he says it, he’s left himself open to accusations of not being impartial, which is arguably the most important part of his job. His position is untenable.

He’s been properly stitched up by one of his ‘mates’. Should have never let it be recorded on video though.

I suppose the way he said it does look much worse compared to how I suggested it, as an example. Like if he said it in a less serious tone with no vulgarity then I kind of think he'd be better served getting punished by way of a fine and never refereeing a Liverpool game again, compared to losing his job full stop for the actual video that's come out.

As the OP said, it is just a person expressing their own opinion and they're entitled to not like a team or manager. Obviously you can't express it in his profession without getting punished and the way he presented it on video probably means it should be as severe as being sacked.

What we don't know is, is this it. Or is there even more videos to come out

He is just plain thick. First for doing it and then claiming it was a fake
