Liverpool and tv rights

Liverpool have woken up to the fact they can't finish ahead of Spurs without structurally fixing the league to reward them for their achievements in ancient history.

The problem they have is no one else takes them seriously anymore. They aren't even in the Europa League, they've lost 3 in a row to the vastly superior Spurs. What grounds does an average mid table club have too demand more money than its competitors?

Its kind of sad to see just how desperate they've become. Want money, don't spend 35 million on Carroll and 20 million on Henderson, in a desperate attempt to buy 4th place. Their like a drunken old man who want shut up about the myths of the past and the golden days

Well the women's work thing is using a hypothetical situation to demonstrate the same point: If there is an inequality, you can't just shrug and go 'well it's there so let's make it worse'. Admittedly there could have been a better one, but the point stands.

@Zaphod;why would you state it ever. Employers manage to get around it by not being so blatant about it.

dunno, I guess he was just so wound up by it that he felt the need to publicly declare it.... and it ended up costing him exactly what he claimed he was trying to safeguard.

So what is Spurs motivation for wanting a TAX PAYERS funded staduim then?

Very sad, you are obviously trying to do what is best for your club like we are ours, dif is LIverpool will always be a massive club, the fact that you have only finshed top 4 1 time in 20 years sums that argument up!

Suppose you will now agrue you wont benefit from the extra benefit of revenue the TAX PAYER has put in for attendance figures!!

You lot should build and fund your own staduim then and not rely on the tax payer to fund it for you, or do you now have a problem with that?

---------------------------------------------

Spurs are building their own stadium. They want the government to pay for increased transport links and for areas around the ground like the hotel, hypermarket not the ground itself. You need to know the full details before suggesting Spurs will not pay for the ground to be built.

Spurs will benefit from being able to sell their right to foreign countries but it is not in the best interests of the PL as a whole. I believe the Sky money should also be split equally this would cost Spurs money.

Jenners stated opposition to state infrastructure subsidies is ironic to say the least.

I think he's actually being serious, pretending to not understand the relationship between regeneration, employment and new stadium developments.

Fine, lets follow Jenners advise

People only pay for what they use

Stop all infrastructure and regeneration taxpayer subsidies flowing from the SE and London to the North of England.

Watch the City of Liverpool literally fall apart within 2 years

Busted.

So you want a Tax payers funded staduim, and you expect the TAX PAYER to then fund the area around that staduim so it benefits Spurs, got it!

Hypocrites!

Spurs will benefit from being able to sell their right to foreign countries

And Spurs will benefit abroad? good god you lot think highly of yourselves dont you!

and this article sums up exactly what the game ahs turned into.

Money, money, money.

What a tragedy it is that the greatest game in the world has been spoiled and tainted by nothing but greed.

As fans we should be talking about games to come and games from the past but half the articles on here are about finance in one guise or another.

The sooner sky goes bust, the billonaires get lost and the game goes back to basics the better.

Sorry Grand

Those days are long gone, the game done changed! players and billionare owners run football!, we won't go back to happy-go-lucky football again

It will happen sooner or later for sure.

The billionaires will move on when fashion dictates that volley ball or something is the sport to follow.

Clubs will eventually go into meltdown due to overspending, we have seen signs of this already.

Wages will eventually stop spirralling out of control

Its only a matter of time

I haven't read too much in regards to the Financial fair play ruling, but I know that clubs like City will be in trouble!

Agreed on the overspending, players like Rooney and is "I want to leave because United are not ambitious. hold on wait is that 250k a week.. I'm staying"

I'm glad the goverment came out today and actioned this warning, the FA need to step up!

The Spurs fans that are always spouting on about money and dont see an end to this gravy train were obviously not Spurs fans when we near went bust a few years ago.

Without knowing that much about us financially, I do know that we are one of the best run clubs in the PL considering we only hold a 36k stadium!

Situations like Modric will obviously hinder our progress, but to be the best you have to keep your best players, does Luka deserve to get 100k a week?? probably not! but because of players like Rooney ect he can demand this!

And I also think that Sugar will eventually get a far better write-up in the THFC annals years from now,

Citeh will survive if :

1. Their hyper-acceleration to PL greatness succeeds

2. UEFA back down on their previous sabre-rattling re sponsorship.

If neither happens before "year zero" , then Citeh are in BIIIIIIIG trouble.

You can only hope that happens! City are ruining football

You wonder why Wayne Bridge decided to stay on at City and claim his (reported) 90k a week! when he could have moved from the club

He isn't even registered to play!

90k a week
Go out with that bint from the Saturdays
Go home

We are where we are. So we just get on with it.

The Bale/Modric contracts (and Sandro too) are a big statement of intent.
Some PL top 5 regularity has been achieved by the team. Need to make that top 4 though for the bean counters, and for us to enjoy the CL opponents.

A well-planned stadium project (in terms of debt paydown) may avoid another decade in the wilderness akin to the 1990s, and bring us the revenue needed to counteract Sugga Daddy FCs.

I feel that the PLC are on the verge of getting Spurs back to where they were for most of the 1980s. I for one would be happy with that.

I was not referring to Spurs I was talking about football in general, we are one of the few clubs that are managed properly and do live within our means our future looks brighter and brighter every time I look at it.

I too am talking about in general, and specifically Spurs place in it.
And yes, the future is indeed lilywhite bright as things are + seem to be going.

It has taken a long time to recover from the Scholar era. But we are nearly at the end of the tunnel now.
