Must not lose this one, would take a draw but obviously a win is really required.

1-1.

I would hope we get 3 points from this one. However, I've just looked at our home league form since we lost that cup tie to Coventry. Played 11 Won 1 Drawn 1 Lost 9 Goals 11- 26.

That's the area I'm concerned with and the main reason GON is treading a fine line in my book and if we don't improve in the next couple of games, he has to go.

That's pretty damming, but we are playing away.

Our final trip to Goodison in fact and somewhere we've enjoyed a number of decent results in recent years. Particularly remember sitting in the main stand when we won 3-1 and as each goal went in relaxing a little more as I began to realise that I was in fact surrounded by wolves fans.

Great post mate. Although the impact of that crushing defeat to Coventry in the cup is denied by one particular luminary on ‘ere, it evidently can’t be ignored any longer.

Looks like GON lost something in that defeat that he’s never been able to get back.

Interesting game between a team that doesn’t score many and a team that can’t defend. Who knows how that will pan out. I suspect fans of both teams will expect their side to lose.

Think we must return to a back 3 with Bueno, Dawson and Toti. And despite all the criticism on Saturday I’d still play Sa ahead of Johnstone. And I guess we’ll see another game for the comeback kid Doherty who has been recalled to our team numerous times over the years.

Another selection dilemma is who plays on the right of attack. We’ve seen Bellegarde, Rodrigo and Forbs given chances. Personally I’d pick Guedes ahead of any of those.

I've liked the look of Guedes recently, but has he actually started a league game this season? Both Rodrigo and Bellegarde do a lot of running about but don't produce a lot, although they both give the opposition something to think about.

Maybe Guedes might continue to be used as a sub, as he has done well generally for 15-20 minutes here and there. Forbes, I think, isn't ready to start, though he looks a decent player.

I think the absence of Semedo forces us to go with a back 3. Doherty is too exposed in a back 4 and has only really looked good in one type of team set up his whole career. I think we have to go 343 and try to grind out a result in this one.

Personally, I'd go:

----------------------Sa
----Bueno----Dawson----Toti
Doherty--Andre--Gomes--RAN
----Guedes-----JSL-----Cunha

I reckon we'll probably see Lemina instead of Guedes and us go three in midfield though. Bellegarde did get an assist last week so could be in with a shout too.

Seems odds on that Guedes will move to Spain in January which is probably why GON doesn’t play him. But he is talented.

Bellegarde seems a nearly player to me. He has good moments and he does work hard. But can’t help feeling there’s more in there if we could find his best role

When you look at that starting eleven you realise just how poor a transfer window we had in the summer

Fosun Out!

Pedro Lima in the squad tonight after recovering from injury. Maybe it won’t be Doherty on the right

posted 6 hours, 55 minutes ago

I am aware that we're playing away Goldi, but my point is, it's our terrible home form that's put us this position. Molineux has never been a "fortress' in recent times, but I'd expect our form at home to be better than our away.

Right now, this side is all over the place and the team selection against Bournemouth makes me think that GON is becoming out of his depth with this squad.

A nice little run of 4 games undefeated was thrown away against a side we should be beating at home.

I'm sure we'll go with a back 3, but I'd prefer a 3-5-2. But who knows who this manager will pick.

Be surprised if we start Pedro Lima but wouldn't be against it. Lima and RAN as wing backs could be pretty effective in time.

Do we have time?

Looks like it could be a back 3 tonight with Dawson, Lemina and Bueno. Toti relegated to the bench.

Sa
Bueno, Dawson, Lemina
Doherty, Andre, Gomes, Ait Nouri
Guedes, Larsen, Cunha

Or is it a 433

Sa
Doherty, Bueno, Dawson, Ait Nouri
Lemina, Andre, Gomes
Guedes, Larsen, Cunha

Evidently 4-3-3

Ashley Young at RB for them. I'd be targetting that side tonight.

posted 2 hours, 25 minutes ago

I’d be targeting our entire defence if I were them.

posted 2 hours, 25 minutes ago

Pretty much what I would have chosen, Guedes probably deserves a start but I do worry about his work rate especially in games like this.

Two keepers on the bench, useful if we end up chasing a late equaliser

U21s are playing Ajax at molineux tonight, Pond and Cundle are playing in that. Guess they might have been on the bench at Goodison if that wasn't happening

Good to see Meupiyou also in the u21 team tonight at Molineux. And Tom Edizie who was on the first team bench at the weekend. He looks a great prospect
