I am not Ange in or out. Any new manager will have the same problems, if he has to start four or five squad players in the Prem.
Nothing will change until the best players return. So not overly worried. It is what it is.
Not sure anyone is surprised. Happens every season, once a couple of first picks get injured. Results then are either draws or defeats.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is having VDV and Vicario back going to change anything? We've still conceded from set pieces with them playing. The more worrying aspect yesterday was how Bournemouth were far and away the most likely team to score while we were trailing 1 nil. Towards the end they had about 7 or 8 unanswered good chances to put the game to bed. This was despite after Ange looked to his bench to try and get us back in the game.
You've got a manager with his attack minded philosophy and we're out attacked by Bournemouth, and not just them either, the likes of Ipswich and Palace.
Far too much is made about missing players. We still had Son, BJ, Solanke, Kulu, Madders, Sarr, Porro playing. We're still an inconsistent team whoever plays.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Son and Porro started on the bench due to being jaded. Definitely is the case with Porro playing too many games.
Sarr is 22 and still learning.
The players in and around them aren’t good enough or are still developing.
Even a past it Davies going off left us short even further. The inexperienced Gray has played so many positions already in his first season because the squad is so lacking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it seems like Ange shot himself in the foot on that front by not playing Spence more and including him in the Euro squad. Is Spence really that bad? The last time I saw him he did well and scored a goal. It seems like Ange fills his benches with a lot of players who he never bothers giving game time to.
Sarr even at 22 has been one of our best players this season.

Ang is a bit of a one trip pony… & stubborn.
I like his passion & attacking style…
But…. We need to hire a specialist set piece coach… our defensive record at set pieces is appalling… & rarely do we score from them….
We also need a bigger squad & better players…We have Reguilon & Spence… but they’re never used… despite having multiple games & injuries
We also need real leaders… there’s also no steel in the side, apart from Romero… Bournemouth must have won nearly every 50/50… it’s pathetic
If Ang doesn’t address this situation, he’ll have to go!!

Of course things won't be as bad with most of the best players back, and they may concede from set pieces. But the general team play will improve.
There is a reason players are first picks, and others are reserve squad players. They are simply better players.
Take say Saka, Odegaard, their goalie and two CBs out of their team for say six weeks all at the same time, and results will dip. Same for all other teams.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of the first team we're missing Romero who most have criticised this season for being a liability, including yourself, Vicario who while is an upgrade on Forster, hasn't been that missed as Forster has done alright and kept us in games, and VDV. It's mainly in defence, an area where we've been pretty ordinary all season anyway. The defence was hardly the main problem yesterday apart from for the goal. We barely created the chances to help us win the match. Almost all the best chances came from Bournemouth.

As good as Rangers have been on "Thursday nights", given the disparity in resources, whatever flak Ange is getting now will be nothing compared to what's to come if Spurs don't win on Thursday night. Make no mistake, Rangers supporters will hound him if Spurs lose. None of Rangers team would make the Spurs bench.....maybe Butland

Celtic supporter.....don't think he's ever been sacked before......I might be wrong.. unbelievable in his line of work
He looks to me like "dead man walking". Only a cup success can save him methinks
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he walks before he gets sacked
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could be at Ibrox - get beat Sunday and then pumped by a poor Rangers and he will have nowhere to hide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No idea how it goes against us... 3/4 weeks ago I was saying you destroy us cos you have pace up top that will kill us.
But you have become far more in consistent over the last 6 weeks or so (more than before) and our form has picked up a bit (we have actually been far better in europe this year than domestically)
You will still be big favourites for the game and rightly so but Im less fearful than I was before.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that’s the thing, no one knows what Spurs side will turn up. You could get last nights team and win comfortably or the Manchester team and watch your side get torn to shreds.
It’s the inconsistency that makes us interesting at times - I wouldn’t put it past us to really dig in on Sunday and get a draw and then play you off the park, before then receiving a humiliating loss at Southampton the next game.
We’re just a basket case

You could sack him, would make no difference. The problem seems to be a very deep seated mentality at spurs that’s persisted for many years. This is like an infectious disease that pervades into every player. Even changing owners would do nothing really.

How many games have we lost this season where the attack has done their job but the defence has fallen apart - Brighton is the only one in my opinion.
Leicester - how did we only score 1 goal
Newcastle - how did we only score 1 goal
Arsenal - they were took 1 chance, we created diiiick all
Palace - we created nothing, worst away performance in years
Ipswich - we created nothing but also didn’t defend well
Bournemouth - created nothing.
The problem nearly every time is either is not taking chances or not creating chances. We have a big problem when teams just sit back and let us have the ball, then go long on the counter - Coventry caused us absolute nightmares in that league cup game by doing that.

Yeah and Udogie is often having mares in the defence.
Kulu should have been in the number 10 role and BJ should have been on the right where he's been most effective all this season tapping in crosses that have come from the left.
It was a mess yesterday. Ange got it all wrong. Bournemouth were actually there for the taking as well in the first half. Their backline looked shaky.

You could argue the players have been like that under Ange for a lot longer and the wins against Villa and City are the players raising their own levels because of the level of opposition, adding to the fact that opposition was struggling at the time. Any middling teams lately we have been rubbish against.
1 win in the last 6 and we've played 1 of the bottom 3, 2 midtable PL clubs, and 1 midtable Italian club. I definitely feel like Chelsea could be Ange's last game now.

For me it's a player and Ange problem and both are equally to blame for our current issues.
Levy also is a major problem but he has stumped up money (maybe never enough) but we have mostly spent it badly on poor players. We have had this issue for many years now. Is the current recruitment on Ange or Levy .... I don't know but Ange must have said yes to them coming in.
I'd rather not sack Ange because it's a merry go round and we repeat the same mistakes over and over.
However I think he probably has to go now as it's clear the fans are turning and seemingly so are some of the players. He refuses to change his attack is everything. He could make subtle in game changes. His training methods are questionable now too, more than ever..... I mean what the fek do they do all week when we are making the same in game errors and mistakes pretty much ever game.

I like Ange as a person but I don’t think he’s up to it. The main reason being, tactically he is very limited. He doubles down with his “that’s the way we’re going to play” mantra, but in doing so, tactically astute managers know exactly how to train for us ahead of the game. Plan A only does not work in the Premier League. Sometimes you need a plan B, C and D all in one game. You may even need to win ugly on occasions! The fact that he doesn’t recognise this, he is doomed.
I hope he is given until the rest of the season and then we can judge him then.

The entire PL took 10 games to figure that out last season and its been crap ever since (ex the odd/ strange stand out win"
This whole idea that we might be better in the cups is total BOLLIX too... we will still come up against good teams with good players, better tactical managers who will know exactly how to beat us.... The whole thing is sham.... He's just stringing everyone along with his ideological BS till DL realizes we aint getting top 4 and he'll be off back to Oz with a nice big pay off.... The bloke doesn't even seem that upset when we get beat because he honestly seems to think we are gonna magically turn into Pep's prime City and blow everyone away 6-0 every game with 90% possession.... Its cloud cuckoo land !

Fans need to start to look at the bigger picture and focus energy on the root problem embedded in the club over the last 24 years, averaging a change of manager every two seasons.
Instead of being split on sacking another manager, surely now is the perfect time to be in unison with forcing regime change.
It's going to take some disruption and pain but with an average squad, average position and poor manager, the climate is exactly right to go nuclear.
Levy needs to be shamed, embarrassed and forced into quitting and selling. Instead of talking about Ange's tactics we should be talking about off the pitch tactics to disrupt and shame.
The current team and sporting status is not important but the future of the club is.

using last night as an example .... do you think the players Spurs had on the pitch were better on paper than the ones that Bournemouth had on were?
You can blame Levy for not bringing in players up to the level that the fans crave. But when the players on the pitch that Spurs put out are better on paper than the opposition then the fault lies at the manager IMO.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course things won't be as bad with most of the best players back, and they may concede from set pieces.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ange makes weird changes for the sake of it. We have Reggie and Spence yet keep running Udogie into the ground - sure neither player is for the long term but whilst here why not use them.
The diiiicking around with Maddison and Kulu rather than just starting both as 10’s is annoying as well.
The whole thing is just a mess

I definitely feel like Chelsea could be Ange's last game now.
posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago
