ETH eased Amad into the team. He probably intended to use him a lot more last season, but for the long injury. Who's to say Amad's current status isn't partly thanks to being eased into the senior side?

TBF EtH did not ignore Amad. If anything he brought him back into the fold. Even this season he game him quite a bit of playing time.

Unfortunately when push came to shove and he was desperate for results he put his trust in the darlings (Rashford and Garnacho)... The rest is history...

I don’t have a huge issue with last season other than the Omari Forson game.

This season though he dropped him and played Rashford and Garnacho most games as soon as Garnacho was match fit. Both are very poor on the right.

I don’t have a huge issue with last season other than the Omari Forson game.

This season though he dropped him and played Rashford and Garnacho most games as soon as Garnacho was match fit. Both are very poor on the right.

Rashford, Garnacho and Amad played, ballpark, a similar number of minutes this season under ETH.

He was rotating the three of them. Some people seem to be acting like he barely had a kick.

Not at all. He was forced to play him after the Liverpool game, and dropped him at the first opportunity. So no excuse.

The number of minutes doesn’t tell the full story. Amad started quite a few of the earlier games as he had a pre-season but as soon as Garnacho had a few games under his belt ETH brought him back in.

Amad started 1 of ETH’s last 6 games. So not really a narrative.

This. Treating Rashford, Garnacho, and Amad equally was unfair to Amad, who looked more creative and less selfish and full of himself that the two others.

My main take here is that it's a tiny sample size we're talking about. Amad was getting minutes. Maybe he was going to get more. Maybe there were good reasons (possibly even medical advice for all we know) why ETH was managing his minutes. I fully expected him to get more and more playing time, but we'll never know.

For clarity, I thought ETH deserved the sack in the summer. It's just once a manager has failed, it's tempting to see fault in absolutely everything he does (bald fraud hyperbole etc) when usually there's plenty of diligent, we'll thought out work going on alongside one or two telling flaws.

Not true. It took Amorim one week to stop Bruno from making those repetitive, crazy long passes, and to realise that Rashford’s selfish and lazy play won’t do. Two things that United fans have complaining about for two years.

And if you go back, there are some folks that justified him not being in the squad with the usual nonsense, “ you are not on the training ground.” The usual suspects.

I think Garnacho's played 4 games on the right this season under Ten Hag. I wasn't posting on here at the time but were ppl clamouring for Amad to play there instead of Garnacho back then? I wasn't hearing much of that, the conversations were usually around whether it was fair on Garnacho to stick him there to keep Rashford on the left.

Btw Amad in that time made 9 appearances on the right.

I’m old enough to remember Ten Losses Hag saying that Antony deserved to start over Amad as he was training better.

Now we’ve seen just how awful Ten Hags teams were set up I can just imagine how suboptimal those ‘training’ sessions were

Fair enough, Rashford was playing most on the LW with Garnacho and Amad and others alternating on the RW with both sometimes subbing for the other on that side as well.

Fwiw I feel Rashford is done at United but I don't believe Garnacho's not suited to Amorim's style. For me, Garnacho's just another casualty of the underdevelopment of our academy players after breaking through to the first time in the past 5/6 years. It's true for Garnacho, it was the same for McTominay, the same for Greenwood. And the same for Rashford btw.

Amad is a talent but much of his development has been abroad and I think he's more adept and experienced which perhaps has helped him respond quicker and better to what Amorim and his coaching team wants.

For Garnacho who's stagnated it may take longer. What he needs is coaching and development and he'll become a top player at United. I'm glad Amorim and his backroom staff are here to do it. If we don't do it I've no doubt another club will.

You also called it with Antony and Amad same side and gunned down by certain idiots. I can see exactly what you were getting at.

That idiot started Mazz in attack than starting Amad. At a point, Amad wanted to cry when he was coming on at the 88 minute or so wondering what he was doing here. Ruud was having to motivate one of the most hard working players on the team to not lose hope. As soon as ETH left, Ruud immediately showed you his own talent assessment was miles better than the bald facking fraud.

He should be brought in, flogged, then sacked again.
