I mean when you go to a family member's funeral and they wax lyrical about how THEY found God....and I'm thinking 'Yeah that's great mate but we're here for Auntie Doreen....you reckon you could mention her at all? she's laying dead over there..Her husband's heart is breaking infront of you.......oh you forgot? no worries pal'

Because more often than not, they haven't a clue who Doreen was or anything about her family.

Not enough priests around now so they "haven't got time" to visit parishoners and get to know them on a personal level.

They meet them (family members) prior to services.............to get their 'life story'.......
I'm not saying they should visit everyone in the parish.......I am specifically talking about impersonal, egotistical (dis)services.
Of which I have personal experience.

Its a bit stressful going to a service at times though, all that standing up, sitting down, kneeling. I wish the Priest would just pick a position and fack me.
