Yeah I don't get playing him up front at all. Though Poch did the same in a squeeze. He must bang them in in training

Regarding this - Poch did it cos Kane was facked around then and couldn’t run. Lucas played there purely for the legs to compensate for a Kane desperate in need of a (Covid) rest. Southgate did the same thing with Sterling in the World Cup.

My thoughts on last night:

Lloris MotM he was actually insane

Ndombele and GLC disappointed first half (especially GLC whereas Ndombele dictated tempo well but was poor defensively). Ndombele particularly came alive second half - but I do think Winks looked as good when he came on.

PEH had a shocker for the first 60 mins for sure. Misplaced so many passes and played like Sissoko on the ball (decent defensively though)

The CBs were awful and struggled with the high line. Aurier and Reggie were awful first 30 - Reggie really grew in the game and was incredible second half, Aurier was decent.

Moura just doesn’t suit striker and wasn’t great. Son continues to be streaky and is in his annual sheit spell. Bale was really poor regarding defensive contribution for quite a while but had 4 or 5 moments of pure, game changing quality (2 backheels, quality crosses and the goal). I was surprised Dele didn’t come on.

id be surprised if Sandy doesnt copy half of his articles and comments content from a pre prepared work document.
