Well in the first half it was obvious that the tactic was to hoof it long and for the midfield to win the second ball.

Yeah fair enough. I didn't mean he's sacked tomorrow but it's a matter of time when the players are saying that. I guess it'll be Mason..

It's genuinely hard to see which manager worth his salt would want to work under Levy and Paratici. They both seem unrealistically demanding and they seem to have naturally conflicting approaches.
I’m so blown about Paratici, I had reservations at the start (anything Juve is alarm bells)
Just another Levy fack up.
Funny. Cos once we've sacked these and had to shift players the next regime doesn't want etc we'll probably be at the point where we could've just hired Conte and bought the players he wanted.
I dunno. I'm not paid £8m a year or whatever Levy posts himself to get this sh!t right occasionally.
I actually give Levy a lot more leeway than most do as I think all his decisions (bar Super League) make sense - DoF is a really tough one to get right as it’s not as blatantly obvious like managers how good they are/aren’t.
When levy’s salary went up it did coincide with continued performance + I think the amount that was circulated was based upon performance bonuses?
My hatred is reserved for Lewis, I like Levy but he needs a slap, Lewis is the route of all evil
Na. I'm not having it. His job is literally just to get these decisions right occasionally. Aside from the stadium (which was business not football) what good decisions has he made? I agree to an extent that hiring Mourinho made sense in terms of winning a trophy. But then he sacked the caant before he got the chance.
What football decisions has he made that have made sense and been proven to be right?
Poch, Redknapp, Jol, previous DoF’s, countless back room staff and players - are what he’s got right.
I'm not on board with giving him credit for scouting players. And there's too many glaring ones we missed out on over stupid negotiations for him to be in the green there.
Redknapp I'll give you. Poch and Jol again, he was in the green sure but he facked up badly with both. His fault, not theirs.
Countless backroom staff.. ok who knows.
But you can’t ‘not give him credit’ for things he got right in terms of transfers like VDV or Dele, even if he has got others wrong or missed out on others like all clubs.
What Levy has done for us is taken a broken bankrupt team and in around 20 years grew them insanely off the pitch and grew us on the pitch too. Essentially what happened though was the on the pitch project was way more successful that projected up until a point (right now) where we can genuinely compete.
I can give a comprehensive argument about the validity of every managerial signing and sacking we have had since Jol, even if I didn’t agree with them.
Basically we have gone from mid table to competing with the big boys and have currently (potentially temporarily) slipped when clambering to the top
Can we say half of his hires have been good? I'm not sure. The way I see it, The generally accepted ratio for picking players is around 50% success rate. There's too many factors that'll make it go wrong to get much better than that usually.
So if we take that as a pretty low bar, 3 actually good managers in 20 years. 2 of which he dealt with pretty damn badly.
Why did he deal with Poch badly?

Oh I don't doubt it mate. I totally get your point, as you know I could argue the point with Mourinho - in some ways it made a lot of sense. But we're not chairmen of Tottenham Hotspur. He's consistently made bad decisions

Primarily the manner in which he sacked him. You know I'm not an evangelist, and thought it was even time. But again. I'm not a chairman. It was clearly the wrong decision to do what he did. And he should be held responsible.
What was the manner? I didn’t think anything was bad regarding Poch’s sacking?
Jol, yeh fair enough that was a bad move, but Poch was sacked during an international break after a lot of bad results and that’s fair enough

That's the one thing that has kept the protests away IMO. We were facked under terrible owners before, ENIC and Levy sorted us out financially, for sure.

Ok yeah. Maybe manner is the wrong word, context I think. At the time you'll know I agreed with it. I was wrong, Levy was wrong. He deserved more time given everything he'd put into the club, saying he wanted to be our SAF etc.
They’ve more than sorted us though, they’ve made us into a club where we can be mad about an amount of success we would’ve never guessed back then.
We were below Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Leeds back then both on and off the field and now we are in a different ballpark

Issue was the players had stopped playing for him (even Poch wasn’t fully committed). It was cheaper to sack the managers than renew the majority of the squad. Unfortunately had he waited and Poch been afforded a Covid off-season then I think we’d have seen us back to our best again.
Again. I think you're giving him too much credit to Levy for the economics of football. And being lucky as sh!t that we hired Poch in the first place cos other guys turned us down.
