Yeah that's about my level to be fair - a big lump who can get in the way of things. I end up playing CB or CF if we're chasing a goal. A modern day Gary Doherty if you will.

A lot like Van Dyke yeah. With less pace, skill, ability, fitness....but otherwise a pretty good match.

Not sure if I posted this on here yet, had a conversation with my brother talking about what our starting XI would look like if we took all the players at the peak of their career (so didnt necessarily play for Spurs) in the PL era, mine was something like:

---------------Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Gallas
---------Modric Davids
Bale---------------------Perisic
----------Son Kane

Tough to leave out King & Klinsmann (and maybe Mabbutt but dont have a feel for how good he was) and pure hatred made me omit S*l

Yeah that's some very good players left out for Perisic. All you had to do was put Son on the left and you've got so many options

I think he had a very good career, I like Perisic. But I'd argue Carrick had a better career if you wanted to go that route. Dembele and Dele and Klinsmann were all incredible at their peaks. Also did Gallas play LB that much? Feel like it was Cashley for most of the time he was really good

Perisic is a key player in a treble winning side and probably Croatia’s best (or just behind Luka) in a WC final team.

I’d concede Klinsmann for him tbf but defo not Dembele or Dele

All those famous Chelsea defensive records had Gallas in the team - more often than not at LB

Gallas was pretty handy anywhere across the back line. Remember when swapped for Cole though Arsenal got better deal cause of his versatility
