toni braxton

those songs are special to me

i did think about looking at some take that stuff, but tbh, looking at the 40 as it is now, i dont think there's a need to. the songs in the top 20 or so there are quality. i agree to an extent about oasis (see my previous comment)

On purpose.

as discussed on the thread, this melancholic, introspective self pitying craaap has no place in the popular culture, which is why it died out before the end of the decade.

Also if your gonna include rap you have missed 90s classics like:

2pac - Thugz Mansion (acoustic)
Heapsa Wutang/Outkast/NAS/Mobb Deep/ATCQ who are all far better than Ice Ice Baby, or Ill be missing you!

there will inevitably be other noteworthy contenders for places on the list, but i am happy with both my 40s.

tbh, id never heard that song. i dont like the vocals really, but the guitar's quite cool.

in terms of boy bands galv, i would say that the only 3 contenders for a place would be take that back for good and east 17 steam. furthermore, chris isaak wicked game should be on the list.

Sugababes - Round round baby
Dido - white flag

should probably be there or there abouts as well.

the first one in particular is a good record.

both lists are outstanding now.

the amount of outstanding records that missed out on the 80s list though, is testament to how much excellent music there really was around in that decade.

looking forward to doing the 00s one another day

doubt it.

what is clear having prepared and edited the lists, is that the 80s selection is WAY stronger than the 90s.
