Mainoo has been MIA for quite a while. The team as a whole has regressed since Amorim's first couple of matches, and are a disaster on set pieces on both ends.
It's hard to accept that we're a mediocre mid/lower table side. Just keep us out of the relegation battle.

If someone wants to destroy United, they can't out do what Ten Hag has done at United. Very bad signings and let go players he shouldn't have. As for Amorim, he has to pick his players for now and stick with them. There is no logical reason to play the likes of Malacia.

Honestly when you bring young players into a bad environment they can have all the talent in the world and just end up rubbish. I say this as an Arsenal fan - we had some hugely talented young players that got broken by the expectation put upon them because our senior players were no good and we brought through a generation of players with a losing mentality.

Nothing special about him, one good game, then series of very poor games.

Bruno a big issue. hes too wasteful and sets a bad example. But, Mou nt can't stay fit enough to give us an alternative

After the Arsenal game, despite the goals conceded from corners I felt the defence was solid and looked well organised.

There are also positive signs with how Amorim is adapting the squad to play his system and the patterns of build up play.

But it's clear we don't have the forwards to score the goals needed. There's little that can be done about that until the summer. To a large extent it's beyond Amorim's control. But the defence isn't.

If we're not scoring the least we should be doing is not conceding.

I would rather see 0-0 draws where we look solid at the back and I can enjoy the build up play even if we're not finishing the chances we're creating.

We've gone backwards defensively since the Arsenal game and whilst I could accept the kock ups on set pieces I think it's unacceptable to see them now.

Amorim HAS to focus on the defence, from the goalie, the defence, to the defensive midfielders. I have faith in Amorim, I think he is the man to get us back challenging at the top, but for now if he's not at least addressing what's in his control I'll be disappointed.

Nothing. Some fans seem to simply forgotten that teenagers aren’t supposed to be consistently brilliant every single week.

You don’t have to go nav very far at all to find plenty of comments saying Amad wasn’t likely to be good enough. Some people have a devastating combination of no patience + no football brain to actually understand the game or make sound judgements about a player.

This is the only place I see anyone criticising Mainoo. I was genuinely surprised when I first read it on here a week or so ago. Literally zero mention of it from my United mates or even rivals out in the real world. I can't even be ar5ed to argue the point it's that ridiculous.

It's almost like replacing ETH when they should have done it and buying players for the manager's new system was probably the way to go all along......

If I’m to take positives from today, it’s that we didn’t actual give many chances away and create plenty. It suggest the formation and style of play can be successful on the PL. I thought similar versus Forest too.

The players just aren't good enough mate. Take the price tag away and the shirts they play in. Bournemouth have a stronger best 11 than we do by far.

We need to stop scapegoating single players now and just face facts. The whole squad is awful and this new manager can't be blamed one bit for it. What a job he has on his hands though. If he turns us into a title chasing team within 3-4 years he deserves to be knighted. 😂

I’ve just read this is the first time we’re finishing at the bottom half of the table at Christmas since 1989. This is the lowest I’ve ever felt as a United supporter. It’s just an accumulation of decay and bad decision making that stretches back over 11 years. It’s so so bad.

I agree, I don’t think it needs to take 4 years though. A couple of good summer windows and we can solve a lot of our issues.

A goalscorer would paper over a lot of the cracks results wise.

Wasn’t that why you spent so much on Hojlund

We've been papering over the cracks for the best part of ten years.

Granted it was with sheets of Andrex but it really isn't the solution.

Most of these bums thankfully will not be part of Ruben Amorim's plan

Was overated from the start. He’s a composed, mature for his years lad who’s got some ability, but he was overhyped massively. Some of us feared that would affect him when it started, and it’s looking that way. Would love to see him capture some of the form from last season.
