We want to be looking for the next Poch, who we can hopefully fund better than he was to be able to deliver success. They have to have the right sort of temperament, be attacking, be tactically good, and ideally be on the rise in their careers, not on a downslide.
Terzic actually doesn't sound so bad and was unlucky not to win the Bundesliga. A bit untested though.
Iraola seems the closest to the path that Poch had before coming to us, taking a freshly promoted PL team and getting them high up the table in the following season. I've definitely been impressed with Bournemouth and the way they've played. Should have savaged us 4 or 5 nil.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For someone who tries to talks a good game, bringing up Poch as a template for a new manager is abit meh.
Six years and zero trophies. I'm shocked anyone would want to replicate that era again. We have to move on and find a better manager. Maybe we already have him? Despite us spending alot, the squad at the start of the season was still short to complete on four fronts. And now it is telling. We are at least three more windows away from having a squad capable of competing.

What's the problem? I said Poch with better funding. Poch is our best PL manager, whether you like it or not, and came the closest to making us the successful club we've wanted to be for a long time. Closer than the "win now" managers and closer than Ange is currently getting. He was the best at getting more out of underperforming players along with the other good players he had. We should be trying to replicate that.
You keep talking about Ange like he could be the right manager with a couple more transfers, when you know full well he is close to the sack.
You don't even give him a chance in the LC. If he goes out of that then he's a goner, with Levy and a huge majority of fans.

Even Poch with better funding got the sack 😂. Wasted all those millions on four players who turned out to be duds. Got to finals and bottled it everytime.
Need to draw a line under Poch. This is a new era. The landscape of the prem has changed since. He actually had it easy compared to now and still bottled it.

Started getting funding when it was too late and after he was denied a penny for the whole previous year, then given less time to see the results than Ange has been, with worse form. Getting Sissoko in instead of Mane, who gave the handball that led to us being down in the CL final after the first minute. No proper striker to support Kane for the whole of the time he was there.
I'm confident he'd be doing better than Ange right now in the same circumstances, along with a number of other managers.

Totally agree.
Unfortunately some fans wrote letters to get him fired and the club has been in complete free fall ever since.

6 years without a trophy in any job is very lucky.
The fans have a right to complain and write letters.
Maybe some of you should write to Levy about Ange 😂.
Don't forget to include the part about Levy's success rate in appointing managers 😂.

Under the same circumstances Poch would not be making sense at all. You would probably see the weight of the world on him. He might even cry after a game because he wore his heart on the sleeve 😂.
Oh yeah, Poch had Harry Kane and still won nothing.

We weren't doing anything with Kane under more proven winners either.
6 years without a trophy isn't great but we know he had hands tied behind his back for a lot of it. There's a reason he was afforded so long and others were not. Shame he wasn't given the sort of spending Ange has had.

Hands tied behind his back for alot of his tenure? For one season only.
And he was given Ange money in his last season. You are very good atexaggerating the truth 👍🏻

Ange has spent in 3 windows almost what Poch did in his entire Spurs tenure. Spent less than £30m in his first summer, which is crazy compared to what Ange spent.
Maybe saying his hands were tied is the wrong way to put it but he did have things go against him and could have easily been more supported throughout. The new stadium in the background didn't help and of course he had to play a season at Wembley after going a whole season unbeaten at home. That's going to disrupt any manager.
