Watch Liverpool get knocked out of the first knock out round of the CL and still fluke the PL only because Saka was injured for the main part
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool won’t win the league. Even if they somehow do, it’ll be generally accepted that Saka being injured and City collapsing are the reasons ir happened. The season there was no quality from anyone etc…

----------------------------------------------------------------------
says the man whos team won it multiple times with 70 odd points, and klopp lost the title 2 times on more points than their gr8 ol' red nose ever managed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This season will go down as the worst PL season ever. There will be an asterisk alongside whoever wins 24/25

Liverpool are a very good side with a world class player in the form of his life. The rest of the league is much of a muchness really.

Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth being right up there shows how crazy this league has become. Wasn't long ago that all three clubs were in the second division.

I think the league probably is weaker than usual this year.

Arsenal aren’t exactly firing, and City are awful.

Chelsea may present a challenge but I’m not sure there quite there, and United & Spurs are dog sheite.

However, it’s also fair to say that Liverpool have been exceptional and they’d be looking like potential champions whether any of the above teams were performing better than they are.

They can only beat what’s in front of them and the CL is proof that they’re a genuinely top side imo.

The league being weaker than usual and Liverpool being exceptional are not mutually exclusive.

Let's not do this just because we can see the title is likely going to Liverpool.

It is a new day in this league. People like to say quality has gone down, which may be true when it comes to individual brilliance. Teams however are much better now compared to back in the day.

Yep, it`s a pisssh poor league this year, £ity are suffering injuries to key players and a loss of hunger, Varpool are going to win the league at a canter, they have had a perfect storm with very few injuries and a settled team, the other contenders have had disruption left right and centre

I don't think there has ever been so many top managers in the league.
Teams are much harder to beat

If the league's so called top six are not firing on all cylinders the league is weak
It's only the half way point but Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are having good seasons.
Man city will rebound but I don't think they'll be able to finish where I picked them to, which was third.

The sheite posted on here is epic

I think the fact that other teams outside of the usual top 6, previously top 4, better for the league itself and a sign of its strength if anything.

*other teams challenging for CL, EL etc places

It’s a crude calculation, but Arsenal are on track for a significantly lower points title than last year. Chelsea have improved from where they were but potentially no better than Arsenal.

Based on the competition around them, it feels weak.

But as someone said above, maybe we’re seeing a change in the league. Perhaps it’s going to be a bit like it was years ago and the league is less concentrated into a small number of teams. Not convinced that’s the case, but maybe.

Either way, none of this detracts from what Slot is achieving. He’s done a remarkable job.

works both ways doesnt it, teams are dropping points = weaker league or teams are dropping points = stronger league overall. Could argue it either way, the fact teams are dropping points more than usual should mean credit to the teams making them do so.

Credit to teams like Bournemouth, Forest etc first and foremost.

Personally im of the belief the prem gets stronger each year, the more money goes into it the better the teams outside the recently promoted seem to get. And even they spend 100+m in a window. The numbers and stats usually back that up too, Even without nostalgia clouding the judgement of many, you're never gonna please everyone.

Why.do people keep falling for these articles?

posted 3 days, 14 hours ago

Yes, I think perhaps calling it a weaker league is misleading.

I guess those saying it are really saying that the top teams are weaker.

Which is fair. City have thrown in the towel, arsenal have become a boring version of stoke, spurs are the football equivalent of kamikaze pilots on an all out suicide run and we are Norwich.

this time last year villa were 2nd level on points with liverpool on 42 points, 5th place had spurs on 36 points this city on 31. 10th place chelsea on 28 points, this brighton on 26th. 15th place forest on 20, this its palace on 20. Bottom 3 Luton 15 Burnley 11 Sheff 9 to lesta 14 ipswich 12 and southampton 6.
