Ole would make us more compact and harder to beat for a start. He’d also get more out of Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund by making us more effective on the counter.

Mental peoples opinion about Ole. He is still for me the best manager we have had since Fergie.

Ole has been out of the game for too long.

Plus, going back never really works.

We were shocking in oles final few months though and everyone wanted him gone.

I admire his honesty, but perhaps in the back of his mind he could have it that these players are severely lacking confidence, so if you start talking about relegation battles, that goes into their minds, rather than positive thoughts. So maybe say instead, we are just a couple of wins away from going back up the table etc.

But this is a big job for him and he will be facing issues which he has never had to deal with before. I still think he will come through them successfully, but we have to remember this is a learning curve for Amorim also and he will make mistakes along the way.
But lets just see how things pan out over the next few weeks, hopefully he starts playing a more settled team and performances / results improve..............

Hahaha

He's no relegation specialist. From this position, he relegates us. His Cardiff team probably had better players than we have.

There wasn't much competition really. I would say Jose was better, even if past his best. Ole was ok, but I was never totally convinced by him - we should have just left him as interim, don't think he was a long-term manager, but it was hard to resist that decision. It made more sense to make Ole permanent after initial interim spell than it did to keep ETH after the summer.

Im still backing Amorin.... but....

IF he wont compromise, as he says he won't, no matter what the consequences could be (which let's face it, in the worst case scenario isnt an option and might need some pragmatic action to prevent).... and we keep losing games as easily as we are doing right now, then somebody eventually will have to intervene to try and prevent the consequential and logical conclusion to this season, for United.

Let us hope that is doesnt actually come to this. There is still enough games left to prevent it.

All I know is he wanted a midfielder, they got him a washedout striker with a "big name"

Don't worry, a January signing or two — even if it's a loan — should help us avoid relegation.

Yes I know it’s a Cuper article but I’m interested to know what metrics are used to decide Utd are by far the biggest club in the world these days. Anything will do.

Even though Amorim interviews well, inside he will be a bit shaken - he wouldn't be human if he wasn't. I think he wants to look strong by sticking to his principals, but if it really isn't working, he will hopefully recognise that he will need to tweak things a little.
But he is learning so hopefully he is able to reflect on what is happening and make the right decisions as required.

It was an off the cuff decision typical of the decision making at the club post Fergie. Ineos remit was and is to change all this and people are now advocating an Amorim sacking and going back to ole

Not sure about the world but the fact we are headline news on a daily basis despite being 14th and a below average football team is a pretty big clue.

I honestly think he just needs to play a more settled side and stick with that for a few weeks. I can understand the tweaking whilst he tries to find his best side, but there seems to be a good 7 or 8 players who are nailed on starters.
The line-up before Newcastle was the first time where I thought, nope, this doesn't look right at all, but it was still such an underwhelming performance regardless. It's not just losing, but the manner of the losses - we are far too easy to play against still, and we seem to play at walking pace, but hopefully we get that spark from somewhere to turn things around.

I think we need to sign a LWB at the very least in Jan, a proven forward would be nice too, but not expecting too much

Made us very difficult to beat. Also was capable of winning games against all of our rivals and played the best football.

That was because the club forced the Ronaldo signing on him.

Ronaldo signing to boost our PR completely derailed our progress under him.

19/20 3rd place
20/21 2nd place

We were on track to challenge for the title under him until Ronaldo.
