Yeah Ange is just looking for any excuse and crumb of comfort, first it was tiredness, then it’s injuries, now it’s refs decisions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Excuses are all we get these days, it’s f*cking desperate stuff and Ange (and half our fan base) are completely delusional.

Correct decision under the rules, but the rules are stupid. But there we go.
The controversial decision was not to give Burn a second yellow for the blatant handball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see why they have that rule though. Otherwise you could get a penalty or dangerous free kick just by playing ball against someone’s hand!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eg Liverpool in the champions league final - tiny how they changed the rule after that game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yep

Sissoko not a good example as the had his whole arm outstretched for some stupid reason, and so was easy for ref to say his arm was unnaturally extended

I get why if you apply the letter of the law it's not handball but I've definitely seen circumstances this year where a ball hitting a hand has prevented a counter attack and the ref has blown his whistle. Put it this way, had he done, you wouldn't have heard one complaint from a Newcastle player, unless he waited until the goal went in before ruling it out.
I'm half with Ange on this. If the ball hadn't hit his hand, we'd have been on the attack and the goal wouldn't have gone in. There's always a grey area with these calls and that one leans on the "lawful but shouldn't be" side.

the ball was deliberately kicked into his arm to win a penalty.

I think they should review the rule so that if the person gains a very clear advantage from the ball hitting the hand, a foul should be given, like the one on Saturday. If there's no discernible gain from the handball then we play on. Accidental or deliberate can't be the only metric to judge this. Advantages have to play their part. I'm really not comfortable allowing goals for handballs of this kind, and I'd say that if I were a neutral too. It can't be just the goalscorer who gets punished. If anything Joelinton's intervention played more of a part in the goal than Gordon's finish. That was the more crucial part of the passage of play.

So we think, impossible to say for sure wether mane was crossing or deliberately trying to hit his hand
But my point is that you shouldn’t get a pen if arm by your side and that’s what Joelintons was. If his arm was like Sissoko then they’d given handball 100%

I know it could be harsh in some circumstances but maybe just go back to handball is handball
Accidental , deliberate irrelevant ….if it hits in the handball area it’s handball
There’s no grey area then
