Great to see him kick on. Didn't think he really pulled up trees when on loan at Rangers but his development since then has been really impressive.

You wouldn’t blame a youngster holding fire on committing to the club over the last 12 months tbh.

Yes, he wasn't that great at Rangers but players do develop at a different pace. That's why we need to be patient with Hojlund I feel. For Rasmus he hasn't really had the luxury of going out on loan or being settled into the team with the odd appearance here and there. he's been thrown straight in there which is a little unfair I think. An experienced, wily, forward to take away the burden could really help him I think.

Those who saw more potential in Pellistri are invited to file to the front of the auditorium and acknowledge how wrong they were, and that Red Russian was right.

He is the black Figo

Been very good this season and importantly seems to have the right attitude and is very likeable.

From what I read Amad was top class for the Mackems and they still miss him to this day

I think I read that by the end of his stint at Rangers, Amad was winning over some hearts and minds, so I guess he took some valuable lessons from the experience. He certainly hit the ground running in his next loan spell, and the Championship is viewed as a significantly stronger league than the Scottish Premiership in all the rankings I've seen.

Yeah I read that the Rangers fans grew very fond of him near the end of his time there. I think any fan loves to see players put the effort in even if they aren't performing great. I've no doubt the spell at Rangers did him a lot of good.

He's clearly not going to accept the same wage as whatever he was paid when he wasn't anywhere near being a first team player for us.

Establishing himself in the first team squad is probably sufficient.

But that’s not really relevant. We are not a position to play hardball with promising youngsters. Obviously, commercially, the club wants to tie him down and ward off any potential approach from elsewhere.

Grate news, can’t wait for him to turn to shiiiiit now he has a new contract.

ETH was rumoured to have wanted both an experienced striker and a young one, and we only got Rasmus. Agree with your points about him, we need to be patient.

Amad's current contract expires in the summer (with an option to extend by a further year). If we wait until the end of the season to extend, we're into the territory where he has a lot of leverage over the club, going into his final season and free to talk to suitors this time next year. Plenty of players have walked away from clubs on a free, citing the fact that their employer wouldn't talk about a new contract early enough. Imagine the outcry if we lost one of the few players we're all positive about rather than renewing in timely fashion.

We have another promising youngster who's eager to get on the team sheet. He goes by the name of Antony and is on 200k a week
I've just seen Amad's new wage will be around 90k a week (what I earn in a year FFS). He must be furious that Antony is on over double he is, being less than half the player.
