Too early to prove the link but one to keep an eye on.
Also, Ampadu and Gruev back ahead of schedule rather which is against the norm of the last few years.
How many times did we think surgery wouldn’t be necessary only to have to operate 6 weeks later?

Yep, and we’re certainly getting light on strikers now, what with Joffy gone and Bamford injured … squeaky bum time in terms of a Piroe injury?π±

Farke’s football might be a reason, last season we didn’t have many injuries either.
When the games won, especially at home, it’s cruise control and players aren’t going 100%

more than likely coincidence
could be one of those luckish seasons where injuries don;t play a part in your season too much, like most clubs, sometimes you;re unlucky with things like this, sometimes not, things even out in the end.. I doubt one club can say 'we've been really unlucky last ten years with injuries, because they'd have had seasons where they didn't have any of note... a lot are plague with injuries for a period of time.
squads are important for this reason, but its getting the balance right, no club ideally wants a bulk of their wages sat on a bench or can;t get a game

I think the limited volume of players involved and the incidental nature of some injuries means that it's difficult to say from one year to the next. Obviously, difference between soft tissue and collision injuries too. Some years you're lucky some you aren't.
It's an interesting point to raise though Wakey because if we go back a few years, both Price and Bielsa felt that pushing players boundaries from a fitness perspective gave a competitive edge. Body fat percentage also was a religion under Bielsa... it's why the players often looked emaciated... but were still sprinting after 90+ minutes.
That fitness was to some degree what our success under Bielsa was based on. Price has though ackowledged that it came with the risk of greater injuries... but they felt it was worth it. I guess if you take it from a 'collective' perspective that's true, but if you're the guy that gets injured, maybe not so much. Bielsa's small squad belief added to the risk too.
Price stayed on after Bielsa, and different managers will have likely had different involvements in fitness/performance management (i don't think any manager is as hands on in that respect as Bielsa was). Marsch made it clear he thought the players were over-trained, but Price stayed on, presumably they found common ground.
No judgement here but the rotation and resting, minute counting, from Farke that we're seeing is definititely more 'standard current practice' than the Price/Bielsa approach was. Whether that's beneficial? Ask me in May.

I'd have thought our worst time for injury's was when the players volunteered to play murderball, maybe a big reason why Bielsa lost his job, because they tried to hard!..

Best Fans makes a great point above on us almost throttling back in some games rather than running into ground. It is hard to say what would happen to players if we didn't do that but maybe it is one of reasons we do it.

Football is far less intense, especially at home. Its slow sideways backwards patient build up a lot of the time. Rotation is thr best its been at Leeds for a long time and that also helps. Problem isn't injuries now, its injuries in April/May. Bielsa lost Douglas, Alioski, Roofe and you know who in April/May during his first season, ultimately cost us that year.

good point Shaun, injuries are typically more prevalent in the second half of the season, which is why sports scientists recommend rest periods throughout the season to try and insure against it. Time will tell for us.

What, not funny?..
That's pointed to the fact Bielsa had more injury's than Farke, and he lost his job at a time his players were returning, I stood by Bielsa and I still think when those players started retuning if he'd been kept on he would have kept us up!..
Injury's were his main problem!..
But at the same time, trying to be funny around here is the same as selbstmord!..

They say the guy who does the players rehabilitation is top class and too good for the championship, players have been injured but have come back fairly quickly.
Gruev wasnt expected to be seen till the back end of the season but returned last saturday, him and Ampadu prime examples.

Even more reason to get promoted then, Don.

Bulgarian National coach believed Gruev was done until 2025-26 season. Unbelievable work by medical staff (and Gruev) to have him back already.
