Good that young players are being signed up, but does tha tmean we wont be making any major signings as these kids wont be on much money so in 2 years if they are playing well and have developed we can have a load of players on £100k a year and when the contract is up for renewal and they are worth £15-20k a week the usual rubbish will come out of ER regarding them not signing.
Should get the wage bill down and bates bank balance up.

there seems to be some unnessecary worry over the Howson situation, contracts take ages to finally get together.

Great news tinged with regret at the stupidity with which the game is run.
You have a Scouser kid thrown out of the Everton Academy having deemed not good enough has to move a hundred miles from home to further his career at the same time as a 15yo lad from Dewsbury has to move the to Everton because they like him and the chances are that neither will be world PL class.
Kids should stay with their local clubs until 18yo at the earliest and if neccesary put the academies under the auspices of the FA and have draft picks like the NFL so the good players are spread and clubs don't have a ticket to the top 6 ad infinitum.
Alternatively follow Liverpools plan, Give all the TV money to the top 6 clubs and have a league of 6. The people running the game have gone mad, run by a set of numpty accountants who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
