City spend 500 million and were still 9 points behind so Liverpool probably need to spend 600 million at least.
You have to wonder though because whatever peope say UTD ARE GOING TO BE STRONGER next season.
Jones, Young and De Gea is just the start, you'll see more new faces joing Man Utd this summer and several deadwood type players leaving.
United made a great signing in Jones
He can spend all the money he likes, but he wont win the league buying players that are the calibre of Henderson and Carroll.
Spent £100m?
You what?
Torres & Babel out £56m raised
Carroll & Suarez in £58m spent
£2m spent so far yes?
Henderson in £16-20m depending on which site you look at.
£18-22m spent so far. So really nowhere near the rather laughable figure of £100m. Where did you learn maths? The school of 'I am so thick I cannont add up so I will make it up'!!
Before I get slated about 'Net Transfers fees' it is all about income and expenditure in any way of life so yes 'Net Transfers' are part of what the clubs accountants will be looking at.
Be fair - Andy Carroll looks like he'll be a tremendous player if he ever gets fit. Don't know about Henderson, he's looked ordinary whenever I've seen him, but all the reports about him all can't be wrong can they?
just imagine a midfield of downing, henderson, adams and stevie me(complete with zimmer frame).
that's enough to put the fear of god into any championship defence.
downing, henderson, adams lucas..
with Kuyt and carroll up front.
Blackburn II
forgot about lucas - pele II
Man City/Chelsea splash the cash = obscene spending
Liverpool splash the cash = investing in youth for the future
Bloody deluded hypocrites.
I prefer intellectual wums. Not thick daft wums like the ones here

Wait until the spending is complete before it can be said to be 'obscene spending'. If we spend £100-£200m on players and start paying them upwards of £170k/wk then we can be put in the same bracket as Chelsea/Man City’s ‘obscene spending’
If we do which I highly doubt, then I will agree that it is obscene spending.
I love how United do not get a mention regarding their spending over the years (ok so offset slightly with that sale of Ronaldo)
Carrick
Hargreaves
Nani
Anderson
Berbatov
Rooney
All big money signings over the last few years and now to add Jones and soon to be Young (haha)
What makes you intellectual then "honestlivpool_five_times"? or was that meant for others and you're a part of the "thick daft wums"
Which one?

I mentioned United's spending a few posts back. They're as much a part of this "obscene spending" as everyone likes to call it, as everyone else.

Suarez - £22m
Carroll - £35m
Henderson - £16m
Total: £73m
Torres - £50m
Babel - £6m
Total - £56m
It seems to me Liverpool have a net spent of £17m, which is very sensible compared to the £100m spent on Torres, Luiz, Ramieres and Benayoun!
-----------------
You forgot to add benayoun to Liverpools outgoing list, and of course Aquilani who will be going for around 15m too.
Thats an extra £20m odd, net spend? 0.
The author must try harder.
I choose to throw Nasri's shirt in the bin
now what you going to do cats cats cats

Henderson was 20M
That aside I agree with you and you just provided clear proof that your owners are not spending any of their money just like the last lot.
