Yep, he's on to a new "Wilshere > Silva" thread now.
Sorry guys. Looks like not enough of you bit for him!

What's so funny?
Gerrard was relevant a few years back. He's the old guy trying to keep with the younger guys.
Wilshere is easily better than him.
Dribbling, passing, first touch & control, not forgetting he's more creative and skillful.
The only thing Gerrard has over him is long shots. The harsh truth.

"Just like Arsenal"
Fair point.
But let's stick to the topic here. No rebuttals in order?
The fact is that Wilshere has proved nothing yet. He's won nothing has a very worrying injury and from what I understand has too much of a liking for the high life. At club level Gerrard has been immense helping us beat the likes of Barca on the way to another European cup. When the chips are now Gerrard has proved himself time and time again. When Wilshere has shown type of form for a few years maybe we can compare them.

I can see what you mean Agger.
But that's besides the point. You mentioned Wilshere's private life there. Sure it has an effect on performance, but that's not what we're debating.
Currently, talent wise, Wilshere is the better footballer. Simple. He hasn't achieved as much as him yet. But once again, I'm discussing the present.

Good old dubbed always overrating Arsenal players messiah Wilshere

There are many footballers out there more talented than Gerrard and Wilshere who have amounted to nothing. What Gerrard has is the ability to produce his best at the top level. Wilshere hasn't done that yet.
honest
Why not offer a decent point eh? Not capable?
Dubbed... you know your football!
The OP is obviously a wum, but dubbed seems to truly believe that Wilshere is as great as the tabloids suggest.
What has Wikshre actually done in apart from arousing a few journalists.
He looks like a talented player. Ramsey, although less hyped by the media because he is Welsh, was similarly lauded, but from what I have seen has been bobbins this season.
What has Wilshere actually done to deserve these plaudits? I could list Gerrard's but there are too many of them.

Not true at all. It's just your opinion. Wilshere will become a great player, and Arsenal really need one or two, but he has nothing on Gerrard yet.
When Wilshere single-handedly wins games for Arsenal, like Gerrard has for us, can lead the team, tackle, pass, shoot as consistently as Gerrard can, then you may have a point.
Until then all he has over him is youth and a nice flamboyant touch or two that you Arsenal fans are suckers for, thinking that all of a sudden makes a player World Class.
Arsenal are a club in decline now. The arguments between us and the gooners are probably academic as Wilshere and RVP will be moving on soon.

Fair point. I've already conceded that Wilshere has some way to go before matching Gerrard's experience. But I mean referring to his ability on the ball. Which I maintain is better than Gerrard's.
Each man to his own though.
Ability on the ball is nothing if he can't use it to produce something. It's not a freestyle football show, it's a professional football goalscoring competition.
Bar close control Gerrard has everything over him.
You're absolutely right. Gerrard never contributes in the big games for Liverpool
I made a nice slow cooked rabbit in mustard and white wine sauce for Sunday lunch.
I then slow cooked some slices of duck in the leftover sauce which will serve me as two tasty lunches today and tomorrow.
But which is better in a mustard and white wine sauce?
Rabbit ot Duck?
