if they hadn't taken over we'd probably be where hull are now cause that's our ex team...
I understand your point and whilst I do appreciate they have invested money, the fans (as the paying customer) also have a right to disapprove of an action which they take.
If you bought a season ticket to a theme park and the CEO was replaced and all the best rides got replaced with rubbish ones you'd complain....
Forest fan in peace!
TBH IMO I don't think Sven was ever right for this league, your next appointment is crucial and depends what you want, if you go form a big name with Premiership experience, I think could be a mistake, unless it ws MoN, if you want promotion, you need to go for a manager with knowledge of this league, I would whole heartedly recommend BD, I would guanrentee your team would make the playoffs at the very least, but (as I'm sure my fellow Forest posters would think), I think the sun shines out his butt!
Your need to walk before you run and the trouble is ur jogging already!
LOL
If that makes any sense!
When was the last time a club was promoted out of this league after changing managers in mid season?
I don't know the answer, so I may be wrong in thinking it's quite a few years.
Come off it Old Fox. Sven had not even had a chance to fail. He took time to turn things round last season and had to rely on loan players who then disappeared. So he had to build a new side but bringing a squad of new players does not create a team. That takes time. If we were languishing at the bottom of the table after Christmas I couldn't argue with the owners. This was daft, premature decision and we have now lost all stability. I suspect we will be thrashed by West Ham on Saturday.
Perhaps the owners are being far cuter than we are giving them credit for. Maybe they wanted a name manager to attract the players that we need to get out of this division, and then their plan was to remove SGE and bring in a coach who understands this league better and, thanks to Sven, already has the players required to get us promoted...
Do you reckon Nugent or Schmeichel or Beckford would have signed for a manager like Alan Curbishley? I don't, but I reckon we'd have a much better chance of promotion under Curbishley with this squad than we would have under Sven.
TBF it's not mid season, it's still early and u still could achieve, same boat as Forest!
They were right to sack him if they felf he wasnn't the right man, but why let him spend all that money and then not give him time!
It's not like you were as bad as us!
Owner's their a fickle breed a bit like supporters!

That's a very fair and devious point, although I think the wages u were offering may have influenced a few of the signings!
At the end of the day u have a decent squad, so manager is most important now and not new players!
Its a short term decision for short term minded owners. We are their toy.
Trouble with Sven, I think like McClaren, he just dosn't fill you with confidence, even if their doing an OK job!
Look on the bright side SM is unemployed at the moment?
Your owners can't be as stupid as ND can they!
What do u foxes say about BD!
He could do a good job 4u for definate!
IMO

I think its a 60 / 40 split between for an against BD. For me, I'd want Lee Clark. But the sacking of Sven has made our club very unattractive for prospective managers IMO
Fox_14 - I think it's a massive gamble to do that deliberately. I can't see it myself.
strettea - That crossed my mind this morning too.
Sven_is_a_fox - I think whether it's right or wrong, I can't concur that the decision was made flippantly.
By the way, new username required?
Unfortunately yes I might keep it to mean Sven is a bit of a "foxy" man? I'll change it when we hire O'Neill

Sorry Strettea, Messi is already on his way
Messi could be right if this doesn't work out...
Blackpool Fox, why do u fink your unattractive for prospective managers!
U got a decent squad, not brilliant, but decent by anybodies standard (for this level)!
I'd say u were attractice, owners willing to spend and back the manager, despite the seemingly premature sacking of Sven.
Yes, that side and the money side is attractive. But it's obvious that whoever comes in is going to be under an extreme amount of pressure and the expectancy is so high. And I don't know if the positives such as the money / squad aspect outweighs the stress of the pressure.
Name a manager who isn't under pressure though!
And I'm sure the reported £1mil handshake for Sven made up for the dissapointment of losing his job!
Football management is one of the few jobs where you can get paid a fortune for being a failure and then get a massive pay off to clear off.
Being an MP is another one.

Hey yes, cheers Stretta - Brian Laws.
Another name for the owners to consider!
Fox 14, very good answer to Blackpol Fox!
Your so right, managers have big ego's and think they can do a better job than other manager's you'll get plenty of managers after ur vacancy that's 4 sure!
They ain't like us and even if they fail, they get paid, so it's a win win situation!

Shouldn't we be backing the owners?
