Its a suprise with all the so called evidence available but i'm getting the feeling they are finding it hard to implicate Butt as he did not bowl and no balls and the money they found was geniune.

jury can't reach unanimous verdict so judge will allow 10-2 majority.

difficult to see why they couldn't get unanimous on Butt but can understand lack of unanimity on Asif

kash, it is a toughie. I find it hard to believe Butt's story (impossible to believe more like). Marked cash (and lots of it) found on him.

Asif's story is more plausible.

tbh, odds of only about 1.5 million to one on those three no balls being predicted correctly seems pretty low.

chances of winning the national lottery - 1 in 7 or 8 million (or even more)

Nah mate Asif is guilty, he got screwed in court with his dodgy accounts as to why he bowled a no ball. The question is have they found the money that Asif supposedly made from this no ball?

odds of winning national lottery 14 million to one. odds of winning euromillions is 116 million to one.

Asif is a class bowler but only went over by a few millimetres so that could be in his favour.

Butty's profanity is an easy explanation leading to Asif's anger and overstepping through lack of full concentration and focus.

utd 1-6 you could be right about Asif and it could have also lead to the umpire missing that no ball with it being so close. There are so many ifs and buts and the fact that they cant get a majority says it all unless the jury has 3-4 Pakistani's in it which i doubt.

apparently unanimous on one of the charges (according to beeb)

kash, without any other compelling evidence, the case against Asif appears weak. a few millimetres in it that could easily have been missed by the umpire as you say.

it could be chutty for butty

Butt can concentrate on his Ice Cream palour in Tooting now. Good luck selling ice-cream in January.

Jury sent home now anyway. How long will this drag on for?

i reckon we'll hear something tomorrow.

these guys are tools. just imagine pakistan's bowling attack if there had been no problems.

I agree with 1-6, i have a feeling that the jury will find butt guilty but no asif, his no-ball was about an inch over the line.....

Also, do you guys know why amir hasnt attended court?? He's GUILTY!!!! im suprised no1 has mentioned that on here, amir hasnt appeared for this trial at all as he pleaded gulity... obviously the media cant report until the jury reaches a verdict on the other two.......

posted on 31/10/11

i don't understand afridi. surely amir had something useful to add to the evidence.

posted on 31/10/11

Yeah, but butt and asif lawyers didnt want him as witnesses. Maybe he refused. The fact that hes admitted gulit doesnt look too good on butt..... personally i hope Butt gets done big time and remains in prison forever..... the guy is a muppett and deserves everything he gets!!!!

Also, i must admit, this verdict doesnt bother be an iota... pakistan cricket has been on the up in the last 18 months and as fans thats all we are concerned about. lesson learnt hopefully for the current and future players, so they dont repeat the same mistakes..........

posted on 31/10/11

Afridi didnt Amir say that he was forced by Butt to bowl these no balls? Also is there any evidence that he profited from all this? If he was guilty then why is he not standing trail?

posted on 31/10/11

how can you have the two parties deemed guilty (by the judge) not give any evidence?

surely they would have at least had an influence on butty boy

posted on 31/10/11

Kash, hes not standing trial because he pleaded GUILTY! if we pleaded his innocense he would have been on trial with these two...... he hasnt. The media have also not mentioned him once during all of this. He's pleaded guilty and therefore there is nothing for the jury to decide on him.... thats the way i have read it. Otehrwise, why on earth is he not there?

posted on 31/10/11

apparently amir admitted his guilt through his solicitors according to one uk rag mag

posted on 31/10/11

Yeah, thats right 1-6. Im 90% certain thats the case. And if hes admitted his guilt there is no way in hell Butts going to get away with it. Asif, im still not sure about.

posted on 31/10/11

1-6 who are u BTW?

posted on 31/10/11

If there is a guilty verdict in this case the police may then go after Amir. Majeed has yet to be put on trial.

Conspiracy to cheat (maximum of 2 years in prison)
Conspiracy to accept corrupt payments (maximum of 7 years in prison)

Im surpised that the jury didnt come to a unanimous decision for salman butt at least for conspiracy to accept corrupt payments.

Also, the fact that the judge has said he'll now accept a "majority" verdict indicates that only 2-3 jurors aren't in line with the rest. Verdicts tomorrow is a certainty, if even 1 of the jury can be persuaded one way or the other.

so if butt is found guilty he will go in prison of the uk? or in pakistan? and if asif is found not guilty will play cricket?
