Fergies all time XI

Cheating with that formation, Cantona and Giggs in his prime would be no midfielders for a 4-3-3

No scholes then?

Or Bruce

posted on 3/11/11

I did think about Scholes and Bruce, but as you can see I more or less tried to fit the best possible players in, without balancing it into a team.

Could even play that XI in a 4-1-4-1.

All players from the last decade apart from Cantona and arguably Schmeichel there.

To me there are seven players I always put down first on this list.

I then frequently change my mind on the other four.

Schmiechel
Parker
Irwin
Robson
Scholes
Ronaldo
Giggs

Parker ahead of Neville?

And how can you not have Rooney as a starter.

Parker ahead of Neville?

..............

Paul Parker IMO was a far better defender than the Nevster. Nev was better going forward. But I I have Ronaldo on the right wing, having a more solid defender behind him makes sense.

Sometimes I would put Rooney up front, sometimes I would put Cantona, Hughes, Cole or RVN. A tough call. Same with the centre backs.
And how can you not have Rooney as a starter.

Billy

Not too shabby for 25 years.

You could probably come up with worse in the five years Rafa was at the pool.

How could you possibly not but Bryan Robson in centre midfield?

By the end of the summer transfer window, I'm sure King Kennny will come up with a worse side than Rafa!

No Scholes

Now, I can only choose a team based on those Iv seen enough of (that means from mid 90s onwards)

------------------------Schmeiccel-------------------------
Neville-------Ferdinand------Vidic-------------Irwin
---------------Scholes---------Keane------------------
Ronaldo-------------Cantona----------------Giggs
------------------------Nistelrooy-----------------------

That team, with all of them in their prime would make Barca look like Swansea!

Smikes, Neville, Irwin, Stam, Vidic, Robson, Keane, Scholes, Eric, Giggs, Ronaldo......but I've had to leave out Hughes and Ruud, 2 great players for Fergie (and Sharpe, loved watching him play). Can't wait for Stretty's list, wonder if Giggs is in it!

So sad to have to miss out on Solskjaer, I really wanted to fit him in this team somewhere! Others are Butt, Evra and Park.

I really rate park, very loyal, never ever complains, never in the media spotlight, very professional, never cheats, or dives, gives 100% running everywhere for the full 90 mins for every game, and often enough changes the game.

Park for me is one of Fergie's best ever signings

posted on 3/11/11

Sir Bubbly, take a bow! At £4m a great great signing and United look much better when he in the side, I mean how good did he play last season when it mattered!

posted on 3/11/11

I know, in the CL he was immense as usual, and has been highly effective in that tournament for years now. Fergie often enough plays him when the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs meet us in the League, and I can't remember a time when he's ever been the worst player on the pitch for us, he bags goals against those sides too.

Hurray for Park Ji Sung!

posted on 3/11/11

What I mean to say is nearly every player has a day where they are abysmal, Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, it happens to the best of them, but Park just never seems to have a bad game. Maybe not always at his best, but he never has a poor game either (only by his own standards though).
