ditch water

posted on 11/11/11

"is it not dish water? always thought it was dish water, maybe it is ditch water? hmmm I hope it isn't ditch water, I've been saying dull as dish water for years. I'll have to find out and if it is ditch water start saying that phrase a lot so people don't think i'm the guy who says dull as dish water.......anyway i'm rambling."

I think it's a mute point.

the original phrase was ditch water. so many people get it wrong as 'dishwater' that that is now perfectly acceptable as well, as it is also dull.

JJG - I think it's a mute point.

oh no I've been saying a nute point for years....

Is it "dull as dish water" or "..ditch water"?

I'm on tenderhooks.

the wrong phrase that amuses me is "i could care less!!" (as usually used by americans).... very obviously meaning the do care about whatever it is.

What about the priest on a white sugar mountain?

That's some saying huh?

"The priest on a white sugar mountain" sounds like it should be the title of a Neil Young song.

I think it should be compulsory for all British people to wear a poppy. In fact each nationality and race should have their own symbol and be forced to wear it at all times just to make identifying them easier. That'll remind everyone why we fought the fascists in the first place.

Darwin, very good.

On the other hand I know forums where Dave's post would be taken as a rational, sane point of view. In fact I think I know few people who would.
