Liverpool have taken over from Stoke City as the Premier Leagues nosiest supporters, according to unofficial research by the website Peter's Fan Chants.

The Potters have been famously dubbed the Premier League's loudest fans ever since Sky Sports measured the noise levels in every ground in 2008.

On this evidence Stoke can expect to make more noise than Manchester City during Saturday's FA Cup final, Wembley's.

Michael Dennis, Peter's Fan Chants managing director said: "While this survey is not scientific, we have taken a series of measurements on the terraces of each club's home ground and averaged this out across games and the season.

"Contrary to what you might expect with its much larger ground, Manchester City fans are quieter at 71 decibels than Stoke City (83 decibels).

"But Wembley Stadium, acoustically, doesn't help the fans and they sound muted compared to their home ground terraces.

"But because each club is allocated roughly the same number of tickets, both sets of supporters will have a level playing field and the opportunity to demonstrate that they are the loudest."

Full table, according to Peter's Fan Chants:

1 Liverpool 97 decibels

2 Man Utd 94

3 Aston Villa 89

4 Everton 86

5 Blackpool 85

6 Stoke 83

7 Newcastle 82

8 West Ham 81

9 Chelsea 80

10 Sunderland 80

11 Arsenal 77

12 Wigan 72

13 Man City 71

14 Tottenham 70

15 Blackburn 67

16 Birmingham 70

17 Bolton 69

ME?! It wasn't me. It was your comments which had a vile innuendo to them, not mine. I've only encountered you about 4 times on the Arsenal board ever, so it can't be me or else I'd be banned as well.

Besides, we haven't had a 'healthy debate' for 3 or 4 weeks.

It must have been the content of your posts.

Not my problem mate

London derbies other than spurs arsenal are the biggest waste of the word derby ever!

what about derby vs forest?

posted on 13/11/11

Andy

Try telling that to Palace and Charlton, or to Fulham or QPR fans that seem to think them vs Chelsea is on the scale of El Classico or Boca v River Plate

chronic, so it looks like arry's off, he's either gonna die, go to prison, or get the england job
me thinks prison no actually hoping

West Ham v Millwall is mental, and unlike any other LDN derby it started for reasons outside football and more political, that trumps any LDN Derby

East London Derby and North London are the big ones, Spurs vs Chelsea is tasty too as is Chelsea v West Ham but not on the scale of the other two

The way I remember it you insulted one of our players or our fanbase and then I insulted you and then it continued from there.

But hey, let bygones be bygones and let's start afresh.

I joined a company a few years ago and this bloke was a QPR fan. He started having a go at me, as a CFC fan. I didn't know what he was on about. Rivals

Truth

QPR and to a lesser extent Fulham fans have to be the most deluded out there.

When you try and tell a QPR fan Chelsea don't care about them they just say either

A) You are a plastic fan

B) Only Chelsea fans over 30 appreciate it.

I even had one QPR fan tell me it was a massive derby, as well as on Twitter having a QPR fan and a Fulham fan fighting over which one of them was more important to us

I hate Millwall just cos of their fans, but in truth I only care about Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal. Palace is good cos their local and I have a few Palace mates but the rest of the LDN teams to me are just any other game
