Mafia smells of Holte!

Only Holte had this true obsession with us!

Like Edin said

Mafia was a normal man, had a family, kids, a job, a car, a dog and a cat... Then something Spurs related happened to him and he now finds himself losing the lot and living in his mums basement like Golum attached to his internet

Even online at 3am sometimes

(I've been told)

TBF to Mafia I understand his annoyance. In a time of extreme austerity, economic problems and huge cuts being made to public services, the idea of a multi million pound business getting public money to help rebuilt a stadium to thus make more money is galling to say the least.

That being said, if the use of public money helps regenerate surrounding areas and provide jobs, whilst that money will also be reinvested into local business, then it can be a good thing.

It all depends on how the money funded will be spent.

Galvin - Kamran is Turkish i believe, and he was just asking Mich to finally tell him what nationality he was...Mich said he would tell him one day

Sounds like they had been talking about nationality for a while and clearly he is not English

Mafia

You are displaying gross ignorance.

The "support" that THFC are getting from the local government are 2-fold.

Firstly a sum from the GLA to assist with provision of Community benefits in the aftermarth of the Tottenham riots. You & I don't know what they are and what conditions may be attached but Spurs do a great deal of good work in the Community and this will only be enhanced by the growth of THFC.

The other part is the relaxation of the requiremnt to meet planning obligations which typically include financial contributions to various departments (education, highways etc) or actual physical works such as providing affordable housing or creating/improving public open space. I work in the Planning & Development sector and can inform you that new developments are often acheived on negotiated planning obligations. That is that the full requirement as laid down within Policy is not met but a negotiated compromise is agreed so that the proposed investment remains attractive & viable. This of course has to be justified but it is commonly done. In THFC's case the creation of a new supermarket, hotel, other business and retail opportunities, the renention of THFC in the location and the increased numbers of people coming to the area and spending money in the shops/bars/takeaway is of significant importance to the local area and local economy which is devoid of any major employers.

In the long term, to make Tottenham a more attractive place to live and work significant improvements have to be made. The area is significantly deprived, one of the most deprived areas in the Country and this will only improve with major investment. THFC are big enough and bold enough to pump 100's of millions into an area which is currently an unattractive and inaccessible destination for any business.

Tottenham will be a much better place with the new Spurs stadium. Jobs and opportunities will be created and it will be the first step in improving the quality of the area....more growth will ikely follow as a result of this first big step.

All of this equates to a sound justification of a neogitiated reduced planing obligation contribution. Put simply, the Council are better to relax their requirements to ensure this development happens rather than applying their policy strictly and threaten the viability.

Arsenal is a very poor example as a comparison. They sold their ground and gained 100's of millions for its redevelopment and it is a high value residential area, unlike Tottenham. Their planning obligations were also negotiated rather than being imposed.

The only thing in your post that shines brighter than your ignorance is your bitterness. Get a life
