With you and Man City for the title. Wow, you're modest.

Sorry sir, I misunderstood. You're the title yourself.

i think Bayern are a top club and their fans are great, they stayed up drinking with us till 7am after the 99 CL final and joined in our songs. cant imagine we would have done that if we had conceded two in injury time to lose the cup.

i am indeed the premiership title.
Just because I'm a large lump of metal alloy doesnt mean I dont have opinions

Have you ever thought that maybe it was because they'd never witnessed such a great atmosphere as the one only true PL fans can provide? And look at what happened to Bayern in that final anyway - crumbled under the pressure of 90,000 English voices in full song. Sort of proves my point, don't it?

It honours you to admit as much, but just because you have opinions it doesn't mean they're correct. I'd like to see Bayern in the League Cup vs Burnley. How many games do the play a season in Germany, 25? No wonder they're so fresh for Europe. It'd be very different here.

itsonlyagame - the relegation pace-setter (U6426)

-------------------------------------

They gt their revenge in 2001 when they beat man U 3-1 on agg in semi-finals.

That was the 1st time i ever saw the best england player to play in the modern era & the best thing about it - he wasnt born in england! Arise Owen Hargreaves! He owned Man U in the 2nd leg.

did the Germans bomb your chippy or something ?
I for one like Bayern and their fans, I will be supporting them in the rest of their Champions League group games.

I've got nothing at all against Bayern Munich fans, it's just that the PL is superior in every way except for Germanness.

the stadia on the whole are better and they still have standing and the admission is a lot cheaper

Cheapskates, that's what they are.

So, above Spurs or below?

posted on 15/11/11

The way Germany tore England a new one at the WC would suggest that Bayern would cope just fine in the PL

posted on 15/11/11

Not as if they'd be playing that many English players.

But entire English team is made up of PL players, and a large majority of Germans are based in Bundasliga. They already took Man City to the cleaners which is perhaps a better indicator anyway init

City's first season in the CL and one of their very first games.

Not everyone can be a Spurs or Villarreal y'know?

Also, did Parker play against them? Are the two players referred to in your username English?

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to both those questions.

Hypothetical subject we're discussing and it's getting late. Night night now

But what you're saying is that the Danish league is stronger than the Portuguese league on the strength of Denmark beating Portugal. By your logic, Kobenhavn should win the Liga Sagres.

and they knocked United out too, the only team to do so in the last four seasons

Not at all. Bayern as a club are made up of a significant number of German internationals. The same players responsible for wrecking England at the last WC. England team that is made up exclusively players from the PL, the supposedly toughest league in the world. Consider that and the fact that Bayern are a huge club in every respect, I think they would be up there in the OP's hypothetical scenario.

But it doesn't bear comparison, because you don't have a similar situation to Bayern's in the PL's top clubs. England's players are much more spread out and are supported by prime imports.

This article has had a nomadic existence, travelling to many Premier League boards. This seems like a nice, quiet place for it to settle down.

Just for the record, I think they'd be way below the Magpies.
