Didn't think Gerrard would start after 120 mins on Sunday.

Don't think Parker should get it, doesn't have the experience in my opinion. Doesn't seem like someone who could command a dressing room, I could be wrong though.

More of a problem in my opinion is that Pearce is currently in charge........

The main attribute Parker brings to the captaincy is that he plays with passion and puts his all into every game he plays. Wouldn't surprise me if Pearce thought he could be captain so others would look to him for inspiration and raise their own games.

Disappointing not to see Carrick not even considered.

Yeah, it's ridiculous that Carrick has been in such a rich vein of form for United but can't get in ahead of Gareth Barry who is on the bench for City.

Gerrard has been injured though in fairness.

Think some of the criticism of Barry is unfair, he's started almost every game for City and been keeping De Jong out the team. Although I'd also have Carrick ahead of him.

What about Wilshere for Euro 2012? Will he even make the squad?

I wouldn't take Wilshere if he doesn't play before the end of the season. Would take Cleverley but again he could be injured, he's a quality player but seemingly made of glass at the moment.
