I firmly believe that had we been in a comfortable position to finish top 4, Roman would have stuck by AVB. But we're not and in the, highly unlikely, hope we can still sneak 4th place he has decided to make the change. He is probably right on this.

One of the key responsibilities of any manager is to manage the players. AVB has
made a pigs ear of this and so had to pay the price. He will learn from this and improve elsewhere.

In the meantime, I can only hope that the players pull their fingers out and start performing. We still have FAC to play for and can overturn the Napoli tie IF they bother.

End of season, big clearout.

I'd rather see our under 18s turn out than most of the senior players

AVB couldn't handle the personalities but I can't see Di Matteo fairing much better

I agree re Di Matteo. It is down to the players. He should do an Avram Grant and let them get on with it. We may as well see if we can get something out of the season.

I would play some of our younger players though.

Summer = clearout of old guard.

Agreed

Hopefully we can still attract some players Like Hazard and obviously a good manager

I'm not sure who might take the job or who is the best option. Not convinced on Jose. Love the guy but don't think it is right atm. Guardiola manages the best players around so not sure how he would fare in the PL.

I can't think of anyone other than Hiddink and he's no longer available.

Can't agree with the idea of just clearing out the old guard. They've been great servants to your club, just because they aren't the player they were doesn't mean they can't still contribute. You can say that going against AVB was bad for the club, but they obviously felt AVB was bad for the club.

Can't help but think if Chelsea had got Modric it could have been different.

Yep, it is all Spurs' fault.

I'm not saying they couldn't make a contribution, of course they could but they have not helped the club which has remunerated then handsomely over the years. Time to move over.

Undoubtedly for me the blame lies with senior players such as Lampard, Cole and Drogba who have all been out of favour at some point this season with AVB yet have decided to inexplicably stir up trouble in the media. They are basically the managers at the club and until they're gone, that won't change. Unless Jose returns.

What i find funny is that the players turned against AVB hoping for him to be sacked. what they wernt betting on was that Roman would tell them there will be big changes in the summer

i bet they were thinking he'd get rid of AVB and a new manager would come in and just play the same team that the other managers would lol

Will update top scorers on weds on my phone atm

I count 12 -11 to Chelsea in scores. Are you round that 12/8 = 1.5 up to 2, then 1.375 or whatever down?

I'll take the 2-0 loss against that fantastic City side.

Liverpool will get better than this I'm sure

Shay Given looks to be not in anyone's team.

So I bid 9m for him

Can't agree with that then. Only one goal in it. And one more win for them. Yet I lose, don't think thats right.

I kinda agree with ROF too.

Only one more win for Chelsea... I reckon it would have ended a draw?

The .5 situation is always a difficult one. I would say that if the match is a draw in terms of wins/draws/losses predictions, I.e. no side has got the requisite extra number of wins to earn a win, then a gap of 0.5 or more between average goals should be required to earn an extra goal, I.e people have consistently predicted more goals for that side.

Chelsea / Stoke would be a draw on that basis.

It is quite a debatable situation and I think in this case I'll end it a draw. But the problem is I have always used that 0.5 rounding up as the benchmark and thus earlier results were effected by it.

Not really seen much of him to be honest. Slightly skeptical though.

I'm also going to start a European competition soon. We have ten sides and there will be 4 groups, 2 will have 2 teams from this league, 2 will have 3. Then I will just compile random sides from those players still available from foreigns to make up the sides. There will be no tactics involved.

Thoughts?
