I have been accused of being too hostile to Galvin, so I must spread the load.

Im finding myself not too concerned if we get through or not, but of course to keep the good run going it is important. Struggled for goals all through this competition, Pav has had the task of leading the line....

Whats more worrying is we have only had 18 shots on goal in the 4 games so far

A better MF to protect Carroll (he is a non-entity without enforcers) .

Defoe will have to play, as Pav is pure Pav.
Penultimate game in a Spurs shirt for Gio.

its important we go through. otherwise half our squad will be sitting around doing nothing in the second half of the season and get annoyed.. and like charlie has done.. come out and said he wants to leave (i am amazed noone has created an article on that yet)

also, WE CAN WIN THE THING FFS!!!

I would dearly love Spurs to progress, a reasonably strong team without risking too many of the first XI should be more than enough. PAOK definitely need to be getting beat, or else we are going out anyway.

It is important we go through, but not vital..i still think we will go through, but i wouldnt want to risk many of our 1st team players with the PL going so well

WE CAN WIN THIS

Someone wrote an article about Corluka yesterday and i got 'd for my views

RDBD - Gio is outta here

Beating PAOK makes their final game against Rubin a "6 pointer" .

Is the KO draw a "from the hat" , or do group placings play a part like for the first CL KO matches ??

Will be a nice run-out for Corluka and some of the other PL back-up.

At least Gio was given a chance of some form.
Unless the claim is that Arry is not playing in his "best" position ...

Unfortunately we have such a strong first team and not enough Europa League, Carling Cup games for Gio to start in, even if he could improve, he doesn't have the time to..shame really

We haven't exactly been impressive in the Europa League this season, far from it really, struggled for goals so far, i dont think it will be easy tomorrow night

Tis because the 2nd string strikers are so poor, and Harry Kane does not look like he will make the grade.

Also the injuries to the current 2nd string MF.

True

Heard so much about Kane...still young though

Pav

He needs to wake the frig up, if he wants his move away he has to at least try and impress

Raptor

Yes i got yours down

I must say though, we did get away with it against PAOK, they could have scored a couple you know

But seeing as we are at home this time around, im expecting a win, but not an easy win as some people are thinking

Good luck Raptor...i need some points as well !

Im expecting the points against Shamrock (bless em), but i dont think tomorrow tonight is a foregone conclusion

1st place

Hmm, so finishing position is important.

Given Rubin play Shamrock next, and may win against PAOK, we will need two "cricket score" games IMHO.

Our previous Europa squads have not been so great because of many injuries so players like Fredericks have been at right back and so on.

That squad put in the article is far better than our previous sides and should easily beat PAOK.

"Our previous Europa squads have not been so great because of many injuries"

What, to Modric/Parker/Adebayor/VDV etc ??

Bang on Chronic, think you've said it all there

Isn't Rose injured??

If nothing else the Co-efficient points should motivate the club to finish as strongly as possible - look at City's situation in the Champs League Group stage this year! if we can win the group the draw for the next two rounds (round of 32 and 16) is made on 16 Dec:

"In the draw for the round of 32, the twelve group winners and the four better third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage (based on their match record in the group stage) are seeded, and the twelve group runners-up and the other four third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage are unseeded. A seeded team will be drawn against an unseeded team, with the seeded team hosting the second leg. Teams from the same group or the same association cannot be drawn against each other. In the draws for the round of 16 onwards, there are no seedings, and teams from the same group or the same association may be drawn with each other."

I'm confident we can see off both PAOK and Shamrock and hopefully get a decent draw (second leg at the Lane) for the Round of 32 - after that its all a bonus...

What happens if we equal Rubin's GD? We beat them at home 1-0, then lost 1-0 away. Does it then go to goals conceded?

posted on 29/11/11

Doovde,

- higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;

- higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

posted on 29/11/11

So we'll need a 4-0 win tomorrow, and a 4-0 win over in Ireland...

Don't worry boys, I'll be at the Lane tomorrow
