Fair comments and a good review of two players in similar circumstance. For me, Carroll has looked lethargic and it's only in recent weeks when his work rate has increased that he has started to improve. If he can continue to build on that and improve his confidence, he can come good. He needs to do the work though.

In my opinion, the defenders are also piling so much pressure onto their shoulders — both of their teams defensive record have been terrible this season.

Liverpool's defensive record is one of the best in the League! Carroll is 22 and is playing in a whole different system compared to the Newcastle side he played in. The only problem Carroll has is that he needs time and games to settle into a new style.

Good balanced article, something interesting that parser said earlier on Goals of Sunday was that no doubt Carroll was good but Liverpool aren't playing to his abilities, he said at Newcastle the players would hit the ball into the box as soon as their was a chance whereas at Liverpool players like Downing etc try to skin a few players then cross by the byline where and by this time Carroll ha already made his movement so isn't in the best position for him to score when he's Inge right position we see he scores like at Everton but to be fair it's not he's been bad infront of goal just hasn't had the chances

Some good points made, however as has been said Liverpool's defensive record has been good which completely negates one paragraph.

The question for Carroll is whether he can adapt to a different style of football. He likes to receive the ball early, but the way Kenny is asking the team to play, this isn't always going to happen.

The good thing is that he is only 22 and has plenty of time to adapt to to a new style of football and become a more rounded player.

Torres has made more of an impact than Carroll has at Newcastle or Liverpool. Although they both have five goals to their names this season, Torres has played more
......

This confuses me. Liverpool are actually playing well and Carroll isn't having a negative impact on our season.
Is Torres' inclusion affecting Chelsea, you better believe it.

Torres, like you say, has played more and in my eyes, one of the key reasons for Chelsea's demise.

Compare both players careers prior to their January moves and Torres was rated one of the worlds best strikers, Carroll was an up and coming player at Newcastle.

Carroll hasn't performed at Liverpool but in my view, Torres is having a nightmare at Chelsea.

The big difference is that Torres' displays has disrupted everything at Chelsea.

Torres plays best in a 4-5-1 with him as the lone striker playing off the creative man in the 'hole'.
He can't play in a 4-3-3 and 4-4-2 and this is the problem Chelsea had with Shevchenko.
