Ta mate

Any of you gents heard of a game called Big Ant Cricket? Coming out this year, looks excellent.

is it about insects?

Nah. The producers are a company called Big Ant Studios, they haven't officially named the game yet cos of licensing issues apparently.

It's being made in Australia and hasn't got any coverage because of the official Ashes game, which has just been pushed back by 5 months and looks shíte. Big Ant Cricket looks way better.

have ashes 2009 on my 360 it's ok but I used to love International Superstar cricket on the Snes

Was that Konami as well? The same people that made ISS (Later Pro Evo)?

I still get International cricket 2010 out when I'm bored, do like a good cricket game.

I had one of the many Brian Lara ones, fun game but way too easy to hit 6s off every ball. This new game looks like it's designed to be a lot more complex and realistic.

Plus it's got an insane player editor which they've pre-released. Yesterday I made a blue-haired rasta with yellow headband who plays in comically oversized aviators.

Yeah, I play mine on the hardest setting and usually bowl the oppo out for <50 and then knock that off in 2 overs. Needs a more challenging setting.

Trouble is it's a bloody complicated game, physics have to be spot on, and somehow they have to find a way to make bowling possible without showing the batsman exactly where the ball will pitch.

And then fielding as well - irritating if it's automated but a nightmare to make it possible to control every fielder individually.

yer didi I think it was the pre-cursor for PES

the cricket game I have is ok not great need a more recent one..fieldings auto but you have to make the catches by timing a button press

Yeah... I think Big Ant Cricket is the one to get. Like I say Ashes looks wánk, they were meant to release it last month but pushed it back to November because they realised it couldn't compete with Big Ant so they're pretty much rebuilding it from scratch.

I realise I sound like LRF plugging my game but I want a proper cricket game so I'm doing my bit spreading the word otherwise no-one will buy it and I'll have no one to play online

I used to have a cricket game but can't remember which that the quicker you pressed the buttons the faster or spinnier (is that a word) the delivery was.....multi player in cricket games are difficult tho as your opponent can see exactly where the delivery is going can even see what kind of delivery your using too

posted on 31/7/13

Yeah exactly. Doesn't make it very authentic. Not sure how it's really doable otherwise though.

When I played online in my one all you had to do was bowl on the stumps and vary fast/slow deliveries, it was fecking impossible.

I wish they hadn't blurred out all the bad words

When I first looked at the picture I thought it was like an online quiz, fill in the blanks I got a few of them

I think playing single player I like to see where the CPU is gonna bowl...

played a test match tother day Eng vs Ireland
Ireland put on 256 all out.....but I matched that score for 4 wickets on a pretty decent difficulty setting

posted on 31/7/13

There was option to take that off on mine, would've made it a lot harder, and more challenging.

I always found on hard if I bowled first I could usually bowl them out cheaply, but if I batted first they'd always stick on a big score.

I get bored bowling line and length so end up giving away big scores...dunno how Glenda McGrath managed it for sooo many years

Just ordered Star Wars original trilogy, Silence of the Lambs and Se7en

And Inception

Se7en is one of my favourite films

Those are all in my top 10, except Return of the Jedi.

Inception, Se7en and SotL are probably my top 3.
