Wouldn't it be good to play Nani centrally, behind the front two, as a roving playmaker?
If that' s the case, we lose either Rooney or Hernandez, We always play either 442, 4231
Also Rooney does not have the discipline to stay in the box. Cheers for the welcome Daveunited, used to be more of a observer since 2010 606 days
What are you talking about, mate. Rooney played with aplomb as the sole striker 2 seasons ago.
Alongside Berba, Nani (and no not rooney) is the most talented player in the squad- difference being Nani has pace and can play anywhere in the forward line.
Ideally Nani would be given the license to roam as he can be devastating on either wing. however our CM isnt really up to scratch, so in an attacking 433 play Nani as an LWF with the option of switching to RWF during the game. That requires a equally fluid forward players- Rooney can do that, Hernandez cant, maybe Welbeck can, Valencia cant, Young can.

Utter nonsense. Rooney's probably THE most talented player in this Man U squad. His passing, vision, creativity, control of the ball and shooting are unmatched.
Yes, Nani might be a better dribbler or Berbatov might have more silky touches, but as an overall package, Rooney is unmatched!

Who was Aplomb?
And if Rooney played with him, how was he the sole striker?
Rooney loves dropping deep and spread the ball. Rooney isnt a clinical striker like Chico, dont get me wrong he can shoot but in 09/10 we had no option but to play him there as we didnt have a goal scorer. Even Capello realised that he cant play upfront on his own

Poor effort. Massive fail!
Manyoo mancees i whole heartedly disagree. Rooney regularly doesnt turn up. Nani is consistently Uniteds best player. And he is the only player in the squad who can skin his man with trickery/and or pace. and he plays both wings. rooney aside from his 'english grit' is no where near the level nani is at. sure he has his purple patches, but he has far too many lean patches for my liking. Hence, nani is the best player at united.
Talent is a hard word to describe as it can be used in many ways. I assume you mean technique and in that case it would be Rooney and i cant decide between Nani and Berbatov
lol@ rooneys technique being superior to berba and nanis. pure LOL.
Technique = Passing, Touch, Vision, Long passes, Control. Rooney has all that
rooney and touch and control?
mental note: *remind oneself that Nani = MJ has the footballing knowledge of I.R.Baboon'*
loool funny mate. I think underrating Rooney. I.R Baboon how are you.

I am not white but I still think Rooney is one of the best players in the world. Its not about colour but what people can see. Next minute you be telling me Andy Carroll is the best lol
what utter doofus logic. your skin colour is irrelevant. quit posting irrelevant things! what is of pertinence is that rooney is english, and his being white adds to his false aura of invincibility.
Deluded. Fergie wouldnt have signed him if he was crap, any team would take him even Barca
Lol true Barca probably need another (literal waterboy). who would rooney displace in the barca side o learned footballing guru?
note my previous post where i said i wasnt calling rooney 'crap'. go to sleep.
The real problem is Valencia in my opinion, i think SAF liked the idea of Nani, Young and Rooney being able to inter-change with each other. Valencia is a better player than Young but doesn't fit into that type of system because he can't play on the left, and hasn't played down the middle for united but i think he may have done for his country at some stage.
