Well he is only 20 FFS, and Essien in his prime did not in general play as a holding midfield player.

A word of caution on Romeu though..........

I think all Chelsea fans, myself included, realise we have a very special player here, but he is still far from the finished article.

There are still things he needs to improve on...

For example, he has a tendency to commit to soon which can allow opposing players to easily get past him.

I am just saying this so we manage our expectations of him as there is a danger we go overboard, as usual eg Josh

He will have some bad games for us, when he does, please remember he is only 20 and with bags to learn

Fair comment, excellent bit of business and I have a feeling we might be bidding for him in January.

funny enough thats how many goals carroll scored in the first half of the season 11, therefore if ba gets a few more liverpool will bid £45 million for him, you heard it here first . By the way romeu is going to be a star he ran the midfield against us last week

I like Mikel,I think he has a first class attitude and he seems a lovely guy.

Not good enough in that holding role, but I would love it if he can challenge for a place in a more advanced midfield position at Chelsea and stay at the club.

He is still young enough to make an impact in football, but not as a holding player I feel.

Even if Mikel is played in an advanced role/position, I am afraid that he might still fail to make a significant impact.

I think that stands up well even against what RVP is doing at Arsenal.

But...I don't see the comparisons to Essien. He's just a different player from him. More like Busquets or Bender
